moving around nav map in split screen mode?

I swear my e90 let me move around the nav map when in split screen by pressing the controller wheel in each direction.

The goal is to jump over the highways when i leave work to see if there is a traffic problem, or can someone suggest an easy painless way to know when i take off if i need to use surface streets or not?

I think one of the buttons down the left edge of the map turns on the mode where you can move around on the map.

yes you can move around the map in main focus, side split window you can't it seems.

You mean when the map is in the smaller right side pane? I haven't tried the map over there. I usually just leave that displaying music info.

How can you do it in main focus? I can only zoom in/out.

Put it into interactive mode, then use the controller. You can enter destinations by zooming in to where you want to go and starting guidance.
