I really hope they don't mess up the M-Sport package for the F32/33 like they did on the F30/31....this thing with a proper body would be even more off the charts than it already is.

I loved the A5 until I saw the concept of the 4er Coupe. The Audi now looks like a Cadillac from certain angles

I like both cars overall, but that gaping maw on the front of the Audi is a deal killer for me if all other things are equal. For example, I would buy the Audi if the pricing is significantly below a similarly equipped 4er or if I could get just the options I want on the Audi, but had to buy (because of the "package approach") lots of stuff I don't want on the BMW just to get the two or three key things I want.
Indeed, I suspect the 4er will continue BMW's option silliness. For example, why does BMW think their comfort access is so special when the same thing comes on any run of the mill Nissan. (And believe me, as I rent cars every week, I'm very familiar with what comes on run of the mill cars.)

Hated the air vents when the spy photo of camo'd first came out with the blonde dude pulling the car out of the truck container, but now they look really good on the car.. I think it adds sporty look to the car and gives the car an edge.
Honestly though, Audi can look great and BMW can look almost ugly and I would still get a BMW. There is a chance I might jump ship to Mercedes but why downgrade from BMW to Audi? wouldn't make much sense to me. To me, the badge triumphs all other aspects of cars. Mercedes can make less performance, less attractive, less safe, less comfortable cars compared to rivals and they'll still be at the very top of the luxury brands just because of the three pointed star. But I've already pledged allegiance to BMW. Sticking with them for the rest of my life lol |

A5 needs an update but its a very sexy car... When i see it in white with S-Line it's way more impressive than a E92, mostly because it looks sooo wide!
I think its hard to chose, they're both good looking. |

i dont like the new audis, very bland and the headlights are wrong. But the prev gen A5 might still have the 4-series, plus it is getting reasonably priced in the used market

It's a 3D painting. It look more rounded and curvy than a real A5. In person the A5 is ugly in certain angle.

the a5 is imo one of the most beautiful 'attainable' cars on the road..
photos just dont do justice for that car.. The proportions are perfect. Ill reserve my judgement until I see a 4 in person

This is not comparable. This is the BMW sport package, vs what looks like a base A5.
The a5 with the sport package or s-line package or whatever they call it is MUCH better looking and would present more of a comparison.

Sad times
Feel free to actually see an A5 in person and drive it before commenting. The car is gorgeous and drives very well. steering feel is weak point but its not exactly an F30 calling card either. Turns heads even 6 years, on even in LA.
The fact is the A5 is a phenomenally successful car and the new 428 is a direct copy of the A5 gameplan. Make a sexier version of the base sedan, add model number, and charge more. BMW following Audi's lead. I never thought I'd see the day. Right now the A5 is an easy winner over the current 328 coupe. Likewise the S5 over the 335 coupe. As a huge BMW fan I'm hopeful the new 4 series will make up the difference and put BMW on top but they have a lot of ground to make up. The A5 is a wonderful car. I love my 335 sedan and am looking for a coupe, please make the 4 series worth the wait! |
