Thumbs down Bluetooth annoyingly slow

Has anyone been having issues with the BT on their car being very slow to connect? I have an iphone 6 with the latest iOS and the phone takes over a minute to connect when I sit in the car with the BT on already.

Also the music screen doesnt update the newer music thats streaming and the connection gets disrupted pretty often.

Obviously a frustrating issue, is anyone experiencing the same?

Nope. I suspect it's probably the new OS/phone. Typical of Apple.

Agreed, I noticed this same issue in my work Ford Escape. New iphone or new ios, I'm not sure which but b/t is painfully slow.

Mine is almost instant with my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1

I'd have to say it's your phone. Hopefully Apple releases a fix for bluetooth. I have a Google Nexus 5 that connects near instantly when I turn the ignition on. The only issue I've noticed is occasionally a song cuts out for a second, and then plays at like 2-3x the normal speed to "catch up" for a few seconds. This is very rare. None of my other cars do this, so I'm not sure if it's just a glitch with BMW's hardware or what. It's nothing that bothers me considering I hear it maybe once a week or so.

I have the same issue. My iPhone 5 always connected very quickly, but my iPhone 6 takes noticeably longer. Strangely though, sometimes it takes just a few seconds longer and other times it takes up to a minute.

I dont want to turn it into Android vs iOS, but this is the very reason I stopped using iOS.
It never failed, after any update from Apple some part of BT broke.
Either streaming sucked, connects failed, song info stopped working or worse.
(Even with the Yosemite update on their computers BT connect is now an issue!)

I work in IT and have access to tons of mobile devices.
Ive tried many different iOS devices and they all have problems after updating.

Ive had better luck with my Android devices and after updates things actually work better.

just my .2

Have you deleted the phone from the car and then re-paired it ?
This often solves problems and is recommended by BMW if you went fron IOS7 to IOS8

Not sure if it's the same in the F30, but my wife's X3 takes a while to connect to Bluetooth if the phone isn't the highest priority in the car's list of paired devices. Hers is first, so it connects instantly to her phone, but if I'm driving her car it takes about a minute before mine connects. Is your phone listed first in the Bluetooth menu?

lol my thoughts exactly. I will try and re-pair the phone to the car and see if that helps, at the moment it takes way too long, in my benz the connection was instant so you can imagine this is annoying.

OP asked a question "is anyone experiencing the same?" I answered it.

I used Google Translate to translate my answer to Overly Sensitive and I got:

"No, I am not experiencing the same issues with my iPhone, OP. Mine syncs up instantly and seamlessly. Have you tried other devices or deleting and re-pairing your phone? Perhaps others on the forum might have a resolution. Keep us posted on what works best!"

But good to know that Socom, F32 N55, smithe90, RPS328ix, and Maxdog were much more helpful in comparison since you didn't feel the need to question their sound advice.

Ever since the iOS8.x updates, it seems to be a hit or miss with my iPhone 5S. Everything worked perfectly with iOS7.x. I connect via Bluetooth - and it still always connects 100% of the time.

Problem 1: Sometimes music won't automatically start streaming from the phone - this is annoying. I have to change the source and then change back to Bluetooth to get it to stream music.

Problem 2: Bluetooth skipping. Songs will randomly skip within the track, and "catch up" to the moment the phone thinks it's playing.

We all have different experiences. My wife has always had an iPhone and she knows early adopters of a new Apple OS have problems. Apple of course makes corrections. I have a blackberry z10 and it's the poster child for stability fwiw.

I was having this problem for a while. Then I read somewhere that having too many phone contacts causes problems because it's trying to upload too much data all at once. I went through my contacts deleted like 100-150 that I didn't even know I had or cared to know and boom works perfect
