Upgrading from 6.5inch to 8.8inch screen.

Help needed. I have a 2014 320i built on 7/2014. I currently have the small 6.5inch screen. It is bringing down the whole look of the interior imo. What is the right part number I should be looking for on Ebay for the retrofit. I know theyre are a bunch of factors lci, pre lci, etc to consider. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to check if your car has the HU_ENTRYNAV head unit, which is probable (but not guaranteed) for cars made 7/2014.

Read through this thread for more info.

can someone help me figure out what hu i have i dont know what its called to figure out if i can upgrade i drive a 2014 f30 registered in november has nav and bluetooth audio

shall i assume i can simply buy screen and upgrade to idrive evo?

You probably have HU_ENTRYNAV and no, you can't simply upgrade to EVO. That would require you to replace the head unit with the NBT_EVO head unit, which is much, much harder to do.

Good news is that you can retrofit a 8.8" screen with a little bit of coding.

So even if I upgrade screen it will be the same just I can code split screen?

Exactly. You'll have more screen real estate, plus you get splitscreen. Everything else (functions, looks, etc.) will be the same.
