Bootmod3 start problems

Hey guys help me out real quick I recently got my car flashed to stage 2 91 octane agg and when i turn it on it sputters etc... what could be the problem I had a dme tamper code but removed negative cable from battery but cleared the code did the online recode but still nothing car turns on but rough idle sputters etc....

I have the same problem. Please join bootmod3 facebook page. They are working on my DME code, but not sure if they working on my sputter/misfire. You can post online and let them know you have a problem aswell (Ive posted my issue online on facebook).

DME code will only go away when you flash to stock AND LOCK dme. They are working to get the DME code to not appear while modded.

Did the car sputter before the flash or after?
You mentioned you flashed first than did the Negative battery pull. DID the car sputter right after the initial flash? Or did it only sputter after you pulled the negative battery and restarted the car?

Since you have JB4. Is the map made to run with JB4?
If so, try unplugging the MAF sensor(if you have one) and seeing how the car starts again.
If it still sputters try to remove the JB4 to rule out that is the issue.
Do you get any misfire codes? Check the code reader in BM3 data and JB4.

Report back to each line to better assist you.

1.First I flashed and did the 20 second wait then turned it on and it idle all the way to 1500 then started like hesistating,sputtering etc.
2. I pulled the negative after that happened turned it on again and same thing happened.
3. I believe it is I had the jb4 in map 0 idk if I was suppose to have it in my original map which was map2 I was running an e30 mix.
4. Nope not misfire codes just the dme tamper code.

OP, I had dme tamper code. Guys at bootmod worked with me and got it resolved. It was a issue of our dme version and it is now fixed. Delete your OTS maps and redownload them fresh. Then reflash the desired map.

Although I still do have datalogging problems and first start takes long, but I do have a open ticket about that.

Yeah same here DME version was the problem and ROM support for mine as well. Just waiting on some OTS maps and got it flashed to stage 2 91 octane AGGbloving it so far lol all the snap crackles and pops 👌

Good to hear. BM3 is going to be fire in the next week or two with those user adjustable sliders!

It sounds great, but haven't gotten to enjoy it, yet. Halim, who is planning on tuning me, is working only on the BM3 OTS maps right now, so I have to wait till he's done.

Not really. None of this affecting the timing chain wear. The only thing that affects that is how often the car is driven, started, etc. I coded out AS/S awhile back. I'm around 86k, been modded this hard for about 15 to 20k. I do a check every 500 to 1k miles though, listening for the sound.

Yes, but it's a shitty warranty extension. I'm already out of that, but I'm still covered by CPO. 7 Years or 70k Miles is a joke... Hopefully they win that class-action lawsuit and BMW does a recall for a CATASTROPHIC failure.

Until then, check it for the noise and the moment it pops up, I'm taking it in for replacement. Now I'm crossing my fingers it happens before the CPO is up.

Im at 88000 miles right now bro hopefully nothing happens yet though. I Do have forged internals from carillo just sitting right now I plan on installing them in these months coming just trying to figure out where exactly to get a custom manifold done most likely either epd motorsports, 4n performance, or wicked 1 tuning. As for the turbo I was looking at the MHI big turbo like the one you have or just getting a borg warner turbo if I do end up going the custom manifold way. By the way monkeysracing.com is where i got the forged internals.

How your problem with DME Tamper Code solved? Was it for you stock DME firmware which was old and not compatible with BM3 software platform? What is the manufacturing date of your car? What do you mean about "ROM Support"?
