Every few years one car company claims they have bmw beater. It was is300 then g35 then caddilac ats niw is350. Bmw certainly isnt sitting on their butt and chilling. Just like anything else they are figuring out the next move. Checkmate senorita

Black makes it look more tolerable. It is though....a very awkward looking chicle. Too much going on to the point it looks ugly.

i won't even test drive the IS. it's one of the worst transitions from a concept car i have seen in a long time. the front end is a disaster. more importantly, no new engines, no manual transmission, no diesel and a cvt with their hybrid? bmw has nothing to worry about.

It's a great goal for Lexus, gotta give 'em props for admitting BMW and Mercedes are better......... It will take years for them to even come close to German engineering........ Bottom line:
LEXUS = GLORIFIED TOYOTA |

Exactly it's not like bmw is so great like in the past, maybe a bit better but not much. Bmw hit its mark with the e46 and started to lose it in the e90 but steering feel was still pretty good. The f30 and f10 are disappointments in some sense, only thing carrying them is badge. The competitors are close and even in a lot of comparos getting passed by ATS. The e46 was waaaay a head of its time. When you're on top only way is down. Ultimate M3 for me was the e46 CSL |

Life is too short to drive a Lexus.

I can honestly say that the front end of the Lexus is ugly, the interior is bland. This car has no style. The Hyundai Genesis and Kia Optima looks much better, hell even the Chevy Cruze IMO. I didn't notice anything fresh about this car. My E46 interior is more exciting than this car.

LEXUS...
I still own the original IS300 and to me it's STILL the best looking IS till date. The 2nd Gen was a Fail, and this one is their most EPIC fail. Love Lexus's reliability factor (my IS has 240k miles and still running). But that's about it. They're just getting uglier and uglier every year.

hahahahaha
Their 2012 sales will have to more than quadruple to accomplish this... I don't see it happening, not in 2013, not so long as the IS has that NASTY front end. Looks like the predator's face up front...

Long way to go!
I have an IS300 2008. It's comfortable, reliable, nice design and smooth drive but not "fun to drive".
Actually the old design is MUCH BETTER than the new design exterior and interior. All what they did now is probably analyzing the meaning of "fun to drive" trying to understand it and then they admitted that their cars are not "fun to drive", which is a step on the right direction. From here until they produce a car that is "fun to drive" on land, BMW will make flying cars that are "fun to fly". |

End of the day a BMW is a BMW where the Lexus is a Toyota!
