Should I purchase a used 4 series from out-of-state or not?

I have found a very good offer from online on a used 428i.

However, the car is located out-of-state.

So far carfax and autochecker shows the car clean

and the dealer agreed me with 3rd party car inspection service.

The car have BMW guarantee remained and this carfax buyback guarantee(I don't trust this much) also.

What do you guys think?

Will it be a bad idea to buy a used out-of-state car?

I'm not clear on if it's a private sale or from a dealer.
Regardless, I would always like to see a used car in person before buying. I know it's out of state, but how far away from where you are? Road trip might be worth it to check it out if it's close enough and the deal looks good enough.

I've bought several cars out of state. For each, I agreed to terms and then flew out, closed the deal and drove it back.

I'm currently considering a car from across the country now though. For this, I'd still fly out so I could personally inspect it and close the deal but I'd ship it home.

I always think it is best to personally inspect any car since you'll be the one owning it. A few hundred bucks for a plane ticket is a relatively small price to pay.

I've bought several cars too out of state but w/o visually inspecting the car. Each time I paid for a PPI at a dealership and had an in-depth conversation with the person doing the inspection so I know what to expect. I also make sure that the tech and dealer come highly recommended, so I'm not wasting my time with some idiots. In all cases, I ended up getting the shop foreman and/or the top tech to do the PPI. My final question to them is usually 'would you buy this car based on what you know now?'.

Luckily, its worked out for me, and I'd do it again if its the car I really wanted. If I don't get an overwhelming vote of confidence, then no need to waste money on a plane ticket to pick it up, I just move on to the next one.

I always purchase my cars from another state, since BMW prices are crazy expensive in Las Vegas compared to California.
That being said i always goo see it in person and get a third party to inspect it.

Just make sure it is a big enough discount to make it worth your time and plane ticket

Is it a BMW dealership? Is a certified pre-owned?

If you said no to one of these questions, I wouldn't risk it.

Bingo. If you can't go to pick it up personally my recommendation is to pass.
