E90 to F30 transition

Two days and 100 miles after F30 delivery. So far?

2011 335i xDrive manual to 2013 335i xDrive manual M Sport.

Delivery. I noticed the tire pressure was only wrong on four of the wheels. They all had 35 pounds? I managed to repair that myself. Hopefully the brake squeal is temporary. I looked under the bonnet, but I cannot tell if I got all 6 cylinders that I paid extra for?

Differences. I really like most of the differences. Looks, steering, acceleration, dash focused on driver, boot opening, bonnet opening, sound, iDrive to set options. I like the new option for date format, but I do not see it displayed anywhere?

A few things are not so nice. Since I did not buy every package available, the iDrive screen seems useless while driving? The cruise controls really stink. The startup procedure is seven steps instead of three. 1. Unlock doors. 2. Put fob in pocket since it is not needed on dash. 3. Start engine. 4. Disable ASS. 5. Enable cruise control to avoid confusion later. 6. Turn off useless iDrive display. 7. Turn on Sport mode. I could drive 60 miles to get rid of step 4, but probably not worth it?

At the moment, it does not remember I disabled ASS, or enabled cruise or turned iDrive display off or turned sport mode on.

And some things have not improved. It still tells me everyday that the temperature is below 37 degrees. Of course it is. It is always below 37 degrees in Minnesota.

Overall, it is great. I feel like a 747 pilot preparing for takeoff with my seven item checklist. And I like the Blue colour.

I do not expect sympathy for all you fully loaded types. I got what I wanted and I like what I got. I am looking for a tea cozy to cover that screen most of the time.

Key routine seems a bit much, no comfort access? One of my favorite features!

Agreed. I'm so spoiled I wish the front door on the house did that. But somebody else posted that even with Comfort Access, they like to unlock with the fob so they can see the Halos light up. LOL I do that sometimes

Also the brake squeal will go away on its own.

It took longer than 1000 miles, but mine are quiet.

I made the switch from an 07 335I to my 12 F30 335I. I actually still had the 07 up until about 2 weeks ago. So, I was switching cars day in day out and I have to say that while I love my 07, I can say without question that the new f30 has it all over the E90. The overall look and performance is greatly upgraded IMHO. Even the Idrive which I thought would give me fits is a piece of cake to operate now. For me my 07 only had 50k on the clock and was in mint condition so I would not have made the change if I did not think BMW had made vast improvements in this car. Like anyhting else in life if you look at it long enough you can and will find faults. I did have BMW code my A.S.S. to remember the last setting so, it remains off unless I go into eco mode which means you need to turn it off again. Overall I'm very happy.
