M235i rear stabilizer in F30?

I'm looking around for mild rear stabilizer bar upgrades for my 328i. So far, the UUC swaybarbarian seems to be one of the most mild at 16mm.

However, then I noticed that the Dinan roll bars are stated to fit both the RWD F30 as well as the RWD F22. Nowhere does it have a drop down selector for the chassis. So, I'm wondering, does the F22 have stabilizer bars which are swappable with a F30?

If the F30 and F22 have the same dimension bars, then the 15mm M235i rear stabilizer bar seems like a fantastic and cheap option for a small upgrade over base/msport F30s.

Has anybody attempted this or verified that it doesn't work?

Why not add a front bar first? Rear bar reduces traction by attempting to lift the inside rear tire off of the ground and in worse case scenarios can cause a snap over steer.

Oh, indeed. I didn't mean to indicate that I wasn't also looking at a front bar. I was merely curious about this option for a rear.

This is a great question. I also own an E39 5 series. One of the better and less expensive suspension upgrades was to swap out the stock sway bar for one from an M5.

I have been wondering myself in sway bars and associated hardware from the M3 can be swapped in.

I have the 15mm 135/235i rear ARB on my M Sport. Very nice upgrade over the stock 13mm one. Dials out some under steer, and no more edgy or loss of traction over stock.

Did you do the swap yourself or pay a shop to do it? Care to share how many hours it took or you were charged for? Thanks

I did it myself. Took about 2 hours all in, with about 45 minutes of that making sure car was supported on stands properly and taking wheels off. I could do it in about 1.5 now, pretty easy.

Did you need new brackets to accommodate the larger bar or just bushings?

No, it uses the same brackets. You only need the new bar and 15mm bushings x2

Thanks for bringing this up as I was considering upgrading my stock ARBs.
However, I am considering upgrading to F80 M3 stock ARBs instead. I already gotten a quote but via sea freight and will take 3 months. I Just wasn't sure it is a direct bolt on. Anybody have tried?

The M3/4/2 has a completely different sub frame. The front definitely won't fit as it looks completely different. I doubt the rear one will too. I did look into it myself.

Thanks for sharing. I took a closer look and compared the two and agree with your assessment.

A front bar should be considered first before the rear. Although the rear bar will reduce roll traction is also reduced.

Is the M2 front and/or rear ASB an option or is it similar to the M3/4?

M2 uses the M3/4 subframes, so imagine it uses same bars too.

+1 cannot fit, go for H&R or Eibach or AFE designed for F30 instead
