Are automatic folding mirrors a feature only included in the premium package? I could be missing something, but I don't believe I have a button anywhere to fold the mirrors in.

I have not seen or heard of any warranty issues caused by coding. There are no guarantees, but normal enable/disable coding is very safe. For the paranoid, you can always revert the coding back to factory default before you take the car into service.

Coding is usually just enabling a feature that is already built into the car.

Folding mirrors via the fob or CA is a feature that is enabled from the factory in many regions, just not in the US for some unknown reason. So, the feature is already built into the car and coding just enables it. To void the warranty, they would need to prove that the coding caused the issue.

If I ever wanted to fold my mirrors in when parking (it hasn't happened in the first 72 years, but who knows?) I don't think I would feel put-upon at having a button to push to do that.

It's pretty cool with the Comfort Access. Just touch the handle a few seconds longer and they fold.

With basic BY 2014 F30 (no comfort access) what are my options with coding auto fold? I did see FOB folding code, but I would like auto and can't find the code.

Thanks in advance. i am sure if it is possible, you know.

I don't know about folding on engine stop or park, but you can get close.

One of the coding parameters is the delay time between locking and folding. The defaults is 1.5 seconds which feels like a long time. We typically change this time to 0.3 seconds.

But several people have requested that they want the mirrors to fold every time they lock the car. This also acts as a confirmation to them that the car is locked. By setting the delay value to 0, the mirrors will always fold went you lock the car; via CA or by the fob. Is that what you are looking for?

That would work, except in my garage I am not locking the car, but I want mirrors to fold on some event.

Can you point on code for delay time?

In some cheat sheet I did see Fembody/3110 ASP_BEIKLAPPEN. I am not sure what it does.

Why not just lock the car?

FEM_BODY / 3053 / KOMFORT_SCHLIESSEN

The default werte value is 0F. The units are in 100 milliseconds. So 0Fx (15) * 100ms = 1.5 seconds.

Change the werte from 0F to 00 and the mirrors will fold every time you lock the car.

Because I am not locking car in my garage. Your question is the same as why not use button inside the door. Yes I can, but that is not a point of coding.

I am almost positive that I can fold my mirrors with the car off. I'll double check when I leave the office, but I am 99.9% certain.

My car is now coded, but I do remember folding the mirrors with the ignition off by using the button.

Oops, I just tested it and you are right!!

The mirrors will fold with a button push with the car completely off (in the garage and not driven today) and no key anywhere near the car.

I could have sworn that it didn't do that when I first got the car. I have an April '12 build, maybe they changed the behavior with one of the software updates. There have been other behavioral changes in both the updates done on my car so far.

Lol. I have an 11/12 build with the most recent software (I believe). I use it daily to save my mirrors from those blue BMWs that like to take up their spot and half of yours.

My buddy claims someone will park closer to you because your mirrors are folded. I haven't encountered that.

I have found that people in OC park close to you no matter what. I park in BFE and someone parks next to me and in my line.

I once had a guy park so close to my TSX that I couldn't squeeze between his truck and my car. I had to get in through the passenger door. That is not an easy task at 6'5"!!

Now that we're talking about it, does anyone else's mirrors fold at different speeds? It's one of those stupid things only I would notice (the wife doesn't even see it) but bothers me to see one fold/unfold a half second faster. It seems the slower one as a hiccup right in the middle. I guess it's been this way for 1.5 years, just folding them a lot to see if it will fully fail under warranty ...
