In manual, yeah I'd consider it. My biggest problem with them so far is that you can't get them in manual, so i don't even bother going through the numbers in my head to see how much sense it would make..

I don't think it's possible to get any true hybrid car with manual transmission. I'm no mechanic but as I understand it the reason you can't get manual hybrids down to the fact that when the car is running just on the battery you don't have traditional gearing because the electric motor just runs faster until it reaches its limit at which point the petrol engine is then required. The gearbox is only required by the petrol engine and I would suspect it would too confusing to drive a hybrid with manual transmission because it would be difficult to know when the petrol engine is going to be required and you need to start shifting gears or likewise when it will switch back to electric power. Therefore they need the ActiveHybrids to be an automatic so the car can seamlessly switch between the different motors.

A MT hybrid won't happen with the technology that BMW is using. The hybrid stuff comes from a particular setup of the ZF auto tranny.

It's not a full hybrid system. It's a fun little car to drive though
