Just paid my deposit
Hi guys.
Just paid my deposit for a 12 month old 320i GT Sport xdrive manual. must have been the only one in the UK of that spec. Have to wait 2 weeks until i can pick it up as its a long drive away. Cant wait to drive it - got a holiday to the coast booked the weekend afterwards so will report back. Thanks to everyone who helped with questions over the last few months. jed |

Just picked up my car! love it.
Did have a problem on the first drive back ( 5 hour drive) the rear passenger tyre sensor warning light came on to say low pressure, pulled over and checked pressure at the service station and both rears were on 40 psi and the fronts on 35 psi. dropped the rears down to 35 and reset the sensors and didn't have a problem. anyone else had problems with false readings? Also what PSI should be run with the 18inch wheels on a 320i GT xdrive |

The correct tyre pressures depend on the tyres you have - check the tyre walls and there is a sticker in the door frame/passenger side with the recommended values. Please note that the rear and front tyres have different sizes. Last edited by x-m4n; 06-16-2015 at 11:12 AM.. |

You can read it in IDrive using the vehicle information screen. You need to verify the cold pressure on the door frame, fill the tires to that, then follow the calibration procedure. My tires were initially 3 pounds high, and when I let air out to get them to spec the warning came on, so I had to re-calibrate. The IDrive doesn't know what the pressure is supposed to be, it just shows the warning if the pressure drops more than a couple of pounds below what it was when last calibrated.

I don't think the actual pressure is directly tracked - the actual rotation of the tyre is being monitored and the alarm triggers when there is a considerable change in rotation - yes, due to the change of pressure...

The system on newer cars measures pressure and temperature directly. Temperature isn't shown in the normal display, but is sometimes available via other means. |

There was an Idrive update 10/2014 which did som small minor changes. And if you have a car after that build date it will show the actually tire pressure
