wheel damaged in transport

I received word from my CA that the 328i xDrive that I ordered 2 months ago has a wheel damaged in transit. The car is sitting in Baltimore port after arriving on 02/21. It arrived on Endurance which took 3-4 days longer than usual. I am told that it will take another 2 weeks to replace the wheel and get the car to the dealership.

I want to know if this is normal and if replacing the wheel reduces the resale value of the car. I also don't know if there was any other damage to the car. Should I just take delivery of the car after 2 weeks or should I look at other options?

replacing the wheel does not reduce vehicle value. when you take delivery of vehicle inspect the car before signing off the papers.

They'll just replace the entire wheel, nobody will ever know besides you. I'm sure this happens a fair amount… nothing to worry about.

Like Dan said, just make sure you give the car a good look when you take delivery.

You might want to pay attention to wheel alignment as well, but at least your CA is being honest with you on this.
