Sport+ turns traction half way off. To fully turn it off you have to hold the traction control button.

It's "dynamic" rather than "OFF" - So it's like a loosened nanny-mode, if that makes sense.

Let's you lose the rear a bit in turns, but will catch you before you die, if you're lucky.

Best situation IMO would be to get performance driving lessons and practice on your own car w/ all traction settings fully OFF, so you know the dynamics, then operate in a dynamic stability/traction mode just for a little protection.

yes i said it, but Thanks to Svache and others, we can re-code the car to allow that function to work
So now it would be at our own risk...

Now, here the feature I learned yesterday from my ED delivery specialist - lift the floor panel all the way up until the edge contacts the trunk roof you will hear a click as it catches and will stay up so you can access the hidden compartment. Looks to be a magnetic catch.
Yes, i know there is a compartment there... because I tried to look in hope to find a spare tire, but all i found was a hole there...
and no the catch isn't magnetic.

You would think but I was successfully able to lock my key in the trunk of my E90 and it had comfort access as well...dealer scratched their head when I had them come help out (I work 1/2 mile from them)...

It controls the temperature for me and it's described that way in the manual.

It seems to act as an override of the main A/C controls for the center vents.

It's not described very well in the manual; just in troglodyte terms: Blue - cold, red - hot.

Didn't see this mentioned yet, unless I missed it, but if you press the mute button (volume knob on head unit), it will pause a CD or iPod/iPhone instead of just muting. For the radio of course it is just a mute feature...

You are holding the hose wrong!

I guess you just have to try and not spray under the car

It's a 3 button in one

OFF - Pause - Mute .... it's all the same to BMW - they just want to simplify things...

just like there is no more volume level indication... you just turn to your (ears') satisfaction...
or like the fuel gauge level, no more minor indication, not even a 1/2 or 1/4 indication...

As for the blue/red ventilation knob ???

It has been on 3 series for generation all ready ....
i never new exactly what it is...
i just know that if i wanted cool air , i would select blue (on top of the temperature selection)

and then during the winter, when i would need hot air
i would just select red (on top of the temperature selection)

it has been like that since the E36, also on E46, and E90...

Could you post a pic if you have one of the older fuel gauge? I cant imagine needing more than what I have now but would like to see what I am missing.

Or does the gauge differ by line? Here is a pic of mine

The dial allows various temperature control for the upper vents. Think of driving in the winter at night and feeling drowsy. Turn the dial to blue and get cooler air hitting you in the face to make you more alert. Bet it's written in the manual somewhere.

Is there a MUTE button on the steering wheel by chance? My current car has that and when muted-it automatically pauses the iPod/MP# song playing--Its a great feature to have--especially when someone calls via bluetooth.

No there is no mute button on the steering as I miss it too coming from the gti. There is no need to pause when a call comes in tho it will do that for you.

you can send address destinations from google maps on ur pc or laptop to ur car idrive.

once u google map ur destination, click on the red dropped pin on the map, it will open a destination information box, click on "more", then send, then click on to "car", select bmw, then enter ur email address associated with ur bmw assist account then click send.

now in ur car, open messages and u will find the destination info so u can nav to or call.
