xDrive: replacing just rear tires, same brand diff model?!
Hi,
I am getting ready to throw back on my summer wheels and have a few questions. My car is a xDrive model and my wheel specs are: F: 19x8.5, 235/35/19 R: 19x10.5, 275/30/19 This set-up was fine last year but my rear tires are practically bald right now but front tires still have a lot of tread left. I was wondering is it okay to just replace the rear tires (same size)? but the thing is my tires are now discontinued (Nankang NS20), so I would have to get the replacement model which is the NS25, so the tread pattern will be a little different. For all you tire experts out there, do you think this is okay to do or a bad idea?

Yeah it's fine, the pattern doesn't matter, its the circumference of the tire with new tread vs. old tread thats "supposedly" a problem, I don't believe it, but you're good!
If anything it's better because the difference between new and bald is about 10/32 or 8mm and that's your biggest concern |
