Question Drivetrain error then Engine overheated warning

Hi guys, got my 2012 F30 328i for a week now so u can imagine the embarrassment when I got stuck 2 days ago. First error that came up was drivetrain and then a few meters down it said engine overheated. Anyways, got it back from the workshop today, fault diagnosed was a loose earth wire that was touching the body of the car so it went into limp mode.

Has anyone had a similar problem to that and would that give a drivetrain error?
