Coding 2017 car vs 2014 car

A friend of mine got a 2017 F31 and I was wondering if there are any significant changes in coding versus my own 2014 F32. I tried finding some other posts on this topic, but nothing didnt find anything conclusive, hence this post.

On my F32 I played with most of the things on the cheatsheet and was succesfull with most of the things I tried. Are there any specific things that can not be done anymore or are done in a different way? Just so I know before I promise him things that I cant deliver. It has the new Idrive version to, so thought things might be different.

I have Esys 3.28.1-46869 and PSdZData 61.3_lite.

Thanks in advance!

IDrive and headlamp differences. Otherwise, much the same. It breaks down to vehicle packages and firmware loaded.

That’s a major assumption on your part.

You would need to go through the millions of lines of code 1 by 1 to determine that, which I doubt anyone outside BMW.de has done.

There are differences between the two, wouldn’t say they are significant though.

There are things that cannot be done on the updated PsDZ but I couldn’t give you a list, don’t think anyone could?

You’ll just have to have a crack and if it works it works.

Thanks for the replies.

Yea, just thought since no replies in two weeks and a few hundred reads, at least there is no impending doom that anyone felt the need to post. Or perhaps any updated cheat sheets that I missed.

Will do that and post if I find anything specific.

Thanks again!

Mine is an F36 produced in July 2017. Most of the ECUs are the same, but some are different and sometimes not directly readeable, for example HFFM2 (http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1359549)

HKFM2 is readable and there are Launcher Cheat Codes for it.

Indeed it is readable, but I can see only numbers (no function descriptions):

I'm using E-Sys Launcher Premium V2.4.3 and 63.1.002 PSdZData. Should I update the launcher?

You should definitely update Launcher. HKFM2 has three CAFD options; only one is mapped but the rest are identical so same Launcher codes can be used.
