2016 328i N26 engine won’t read oil level
I purchased the car used in May and have limited info on prior maintenance or issues. Since purchasing, the oil sensor will not read the oil level. Message in the dash says “Oil level measurement not possible.”
The oil sensor is getting power. Replaced the oil sensor and still won’t read the oil level. I have searched the forums and can’t find info indicating any steps needed for the car to recognize the new sensor. Disconnected the battery made no difference. Any suggestions on what might be causing the issue? |

Does the reading on the iDrive start and then fail at a certain percentage before completion? I had that happening and found the cause. Not sure if we're on the same page tho...

Follow the manual directions to the letter.
▷ Vehicle is on level road. ▷ Steptronic transmission: selector lever in selector lever position N or P and accelerator pedal not depressed. ▷ Engine is running and is at operating temperature. |

Any error codes? May want to use ISTA+ (free) and a $10 ENET cable (Amazon/Ebay) to see if there are any BMW-specific codes that could clue you in.
