Exclamation BMW 320I constantly losing engine coolant, been in to garage several times help!

Hi all

I have a 2017 plate BMW 320I and i am having severe engine coolant issues, it has been in to the BMW dealership a few times now and they supposedly have fixed the issue but no such luck.

The first time, they identified a leak in the pipe and replaced the pipe, still having engine coolant issues

Just before Christmas it went in again with the same issue, they replaced the cap as it was worn and also identified an air lock in the system

Last week it had to have 5 litres put in in total as the engine coolant light kept coming on, there are no visible signs of any leaks anywhere, the temperature gauge sits inbetween 100 and 120, which i know is extremely high

It has around 145K on the clock, i do a lot of driving for work, can someone please help me identify what the issue may be??? The head gasket seems fine it is not kicking a lot of white smoke and the oil seems to be fine too.

It is going somewhere i just dont know where and i dont thiink the BMW garage know too

You need to have a pressure test performed on the cooling system.

Temperature gauge is from the oil right? Between 100-120 for oil is normal.

Echoing the same. Did the garage perform a pressure test?

Which coolant pipe was replaced? Dealing with a similar issue but not nearly as bad, as it sounds with you. Been driving it like this for over 50k miles without issue, just watching the coolant level every week or two to see if I need to top up. Seems to lose more coolant in the winter compared to warmer months for me.
