After using interior detailer products, Discoloration?
Hey whats up guys, I am a huge fan of Meguiar's quick interior detailer... It seems to clean well and make it look OEM stock without any extra shine.. But sometimes with older cars I need something a little more powerfull maybe a little stronger..
On my E36 I tried both other products that appear to have killer reviews : 1 - Griot's Interior Cleaner 2 - nextzett Plastic Deep Cleaner ( use to be 1z einszett ) Both rated as killer cleaners and I cant find anything bad about either one. What am I doing wrong, I tried each on a door panel and now the door panel has a greyish hint to it almost like ashy skin.. It looks worse than when i started.. Kinda bummed, I have tried wiping down with water and then going over with meguairs interior detail as well as leather conditioner in hopes to freshen it up.. Ever since I cleaned it now has this greyish haze and Id love to hope im doing something wrong since these products have rave reviews and almost no negative press.. They even both state just spray on whatever. Hopefully some smarter detailers than me can chime in, Thanks in advance.

Anyone else experience this or have any tips or tricks besides diluting going fwd? If thats my only options essentially will just lead to me back to using Meguiar's quick interior detailer.

Both are strong cleaners so diluting is something to consider but neither contains gloss enhancing chemicals. Personally, the Meg's interior cleaner you mention has always worked for me. The Megs has the right balance and doesn't seem to dull or dry the plastic out.
Nothing wrong with the two aforementioned products as they give a deep clean but follow up with some kind of protection or protect and shine product such as the Megs. |
