Clear/Satin clear car bra?

Has anyone had a clear car bra on their car? Just trying to get a ballpark price for the full front (Bumper, fenders, full hood, mirrors, headlights).

Also, I'm tempted to get this done on my EBII 335i once I get it... thoughts? Would make it stand out a little bit

I actually brought my car to a local detail shop to price 3m clear bra. It was 540.00 just for the bumper. Half hood was 280.00. Headlights were 80.00 each. Mirrors were 40.00 each. Front of fenders were 100.00 each. Needless to say I took a pass. As much as I would love to protect the car from chips, I cannot wrap myself around those prices.

I have been quoted at $750 for bumper, hood, and 2 fenders. and I still can't wrap my head around it.
I have also been quoted at $450 for the bumper and head light.

I had a 3M clear bra put on the bumper and on the front portion of the hood for $400 installed.

I had a full front quote for $1800 just for clear. Matte would be the whole car which would be more like $4k if I had to guess...

I had it on 3 cars so far and paid $695. Installer is top notch guy, took him around 5 hours to do the front on my e92, S5, and tt.
It is awesome for bugs, rocks etc...
My f30 is a lease so I skipped it this time around.

Update: I got it done by Executive Motorsports in Houston; they did the whole bumper (minus my M Sport splitter), half of the hood, and the mirrors. I think the normal rate was $650 but they had a promotion sponsored by the manufacturer for $550 plus tax.

It looks great and the price wasn't too bad. I do see the borders on the hood from up close but a couple steps back and it's nearly invisible. Anyone in the Houston area looking to get this done can hit up Peter at the Gessner location.

Hey guys, Why don't you use this:
http://www.amazon.com/3M-90000-Paint.../dp/B00BSKYM82

This is much more cheaper and economical~

This may be a dumb question but exactly what is the extent of protection it provides?

For example, does it stop chips/dings caused from the stones tossed from a dump truck's wheels, say? If so, I might be interested. I will go out of my way to get from behind one of those things, especially on the highway.

The protection it offers has to be greater than what it'd cost me to have my insurer repair it under my policy's guidelines. Right now, I'm carrying a $250 deductible, and seeing quotes like $700+ make think it's not really worth it.

It'll stop rocks, also will help with random debris that'll hit your car as well

Orange peel effect. Don't want to have to magically find a way to get it off and respray when it doesn't hold up. I'd rather get a self-healing film and have it last for years without having to see or worry about it

I have a spray on clear bra on my m6 and my f30. Definitely recommend it. Cost me $250 for the f30 bumper
