F30 LCI: No way to get Xenon's without Premium package??!

So my current lease is almost up ('14 F30) and i'm beginning to shop to lock in a price during the holiday sales (if they are strong).

On my '14 F30 I was able to upgrade the crap halogens to Xenon's with the $900 lighting package.

Looking at the order guide am I right assuming there is no cheap way to upgrade the Halogens on the '16 F30. Its seems the lighting package is now dependent on the $2k premium package which is arguably not worth it.

It also appears the '16 F30 doesn't come with Xenons at all its either halogens or LED's....

WTF!?

To the best of my knowledge, BMW does not offer xenons anymore on the F30. LED and Premium Package are standard on the 340i. If you are considering the 320i, the cost to upgrade to standard non-adaptive LEDs is $700 and if you are considering the 328i, you will have to get the premium package to get the standard non-adaptive LEDs.

Yea I can't believe $700 gets you this on a 320i but not a 328i, not considering the 320i, and not happy.

Thanks!

The LCI 328i has the optional lighting package ($800) which gives the adaptive full LED lights with corona rings and the automatic high beams. The 320i has the optional lighting package ($700) with non-adaptive LED lights and no corona rings and manual high beams. It looks like the xenon lights are not even an option with the F30's, only the LED lights.

Right but the option $800 adaptive full LED option requires the $2,450 Premium Package.

What's your fix on Xenons? They've been replaced by LEDs. Halogens remain standard on 328 and 320. And the $700 option on the 320i is to non adaptive LED headlights. $800 lighting on 328 is for adaptive LEDs. I would think the premium package with lumbar support is a no brainer but hey, to each is own!

Forget Xenons or LED, just anything but Halogens. My fix is on upgrading for a decent price.

on my '13 F30 it was a $900 upgrade Halogens -> Xenon

currently the '16 328i its Premium ($2,450) for LED's
currently the '16 320i its $700 for LED's

Why can't the 328i be afforded the same a la carte option! sucks to be forced into premium now.

I totally get it..the joy of the options used to be ordering the car with everything you want and nothing you don't want.

Maybe a bump to the 340 is in order unless that's out of the question

Yup I'll either go with a 340i or a 428i, I just don't know which way to go. Do I want the extra power in a sedan or the looks/styling of the coupe. I guess I have about a month or so to mull that over.....

The 320i LED package doesn’t have the corona rings? Bummer. This would make the 320i LED package less attractive. (My local dealer doesn’t have the 2016s on the main lot yet to check.)

I'm also curious about this. If true, the LCI 320i Lighting Package is a pretty serious downgrade vs. the Pre-LCI.

Pre-LCI 320i Lighting Package: Adaptive Xenons with corona rings for $900
LCI 320i Lighting Package: Fixed LEDs, no corona rings for $700

I don't think that's possible. There's only 3 possible variations of headlights for LCI F30s: Halogen, LED, and Adaptive LED.

That was my understanding as well, but I haven't seen them in person to verify and wanted to check with others here.

The Lighting Package on the 320i does come with the corona rings. And the LED low/high beams are indeed fixed. Here's a link to my local dealer; they have (1) 320i in stock with the Lighting, Premium, Sport Packages, and Navigation.

Agreed!

BMW should make xenons standard with angel eyes and LED's an upgrade.

The angel eyes are iconic. Just like the kidney grilles.

I personally would never consider a BMW without the corona rings. Just make them standard and bump up the MSRP for Christ's sake. A BMW is not a BMW without them now.

Yeah, it is making my decision between a 320i and 328i difficult. (320i has the LED lighting package whereas in the 328i I would be forced to buy the premium package, and don't want it, just to be able to buy the LED lighting package).

The Premium Package is required to get the Comfort Access which is a requirement for me as well. Another thing I can't believe is I have to use a key fob still for a BMW unless I get another package. Does BMW know I can buy a darn Hyundai or Nissan and never pull my keys out of the pocket?
