Thanks for your response! I looked up these wheels, they look pretty good! Your car looks amazing lowered! Also , like your interior mods. Looks like only 18 inch tires available in run flat is the Pirelli II sotozerro...where are you sourcing your replica wheels - looking for pewter or black wheels...

I went with black...

...was looking more for an AG M310 replica, but these will do. They're only for winter anyway.

No run flats, picked up some Dunlop 4D's...with 18" rims I should be ok w/o RFT. Will carry some goop and I have a small portable air compressor in the trunk of my C350 that will make the transition over to the new car.

Thanks for the comments...be sure to get some pix on this tread when you pick up your car...this is the "official" LSB thread after all

Those wheels look awesome! Yeah, the only concern I had with non run flats was the sidewall being softer and not fully compatible with suspension tuning (any validity to this? Or will the adaptive feature deal with this) ... I may try if possible to share my wife's Subaru Forester till end of March and wait for better selection of tires...will be difficult though to resist wanting drive the LSB ASAP ðŸ˜

I was just at Simplytires, sounds like you were there today LOL! So how does the D4 feel? Is it kinda soft? Difficult time deciding between those and the Pirelli run flats ...

Yeah I was there. Tires are soft of course because they are winters and I was on the 407 all the way back so felt pretty soft. We'll see how they perform on the snow tomorrow by the sounds of it!

Problem with tint in Ontario is that there is no rule as far as what is allowed on the drivers and passenger window (the front). Per the provincial laws, it is up to the "officer's discretion" since they have no way of measuring apparently...and since most officers are holier than thou, you're getting a ticket. So that means tinting the rear windows only, which I don't care for.

Looks sharp with those wheels! You can let us know how great the snow/ice traction is very soon. I run mich alpin run flats on my current 335 and winter traction is not the most comforting. But my current car is RWD. The guy at simplytires is adamant that the run flats are horrific for winter; I was planning to order the pirelli sottozero run flats , but having second thoughts now ...still some time left to decide, planning to pick up my new ride likely end of Feb. I'll look forward to your feedback. Many thanks!

I got the sottozeros runflat, they are fantastic. Very smooth, silent and amazing traction.

Thanks. Good to know. Run flats may be a safer bet especially in the winter!

18*8.5 ET 38 and 225-45-18...square set up. Perhaps not ideal, but I wanted a square set up for winter, and to be honest there wasn't much left at this point in the season!!

On my previous car (e90) I had decided not to go with runflats, and when I got a flat which was not reparable and I was stuck on the highway, I told my self last time I get tires that are not runflats, unless you keep a spare in the trunck, however that takes up space and adds weight...

So this time, I went with runflats. The new runflats are much better than they used to be. I think your better off with runflats.

What do you folks think about this wheel in 18*8 for winter set up? Only issue is that they are not winter approved because of machined finish, so will have wash off salt regularly ...they kinda resemble the 20 inch wheels 405 ...with dark grey/black finish on insides
