I have a 2013 f30 with nav package but the only remote features I am getting is locate vehicle, honk horn, flash lights and lock/unlock. Why can't I get precondition and send map info to car?
If u have navi and BMW assist you should have option to send location to car by select google local search.

+1

I tested it by unlocking my car at my work desk via the remote app. Then I proceeded to gather my stuff, walk to the elevator, head down the elevator, out the front door of my building and then to the parking lot. Probably about a 4-6 min process. As I was approaching my car, the unlock lights finally flashed. That's useless.

The benefit of preconditioning via the remote app is that you are supposed to be able to turn on preconditioning as you are returning to your car and want to have it cooled down a bit before you get there.

My remote app allows me to send addresses to the nav, to lock/unlock the car, flash the lights, and beep the horn. It also will locate the car if you forget where you parked it (my wife uses that).

The commands sometimes take a long time (like 5 to 10 minutes or more) to work, but I've noticed that it seems to be working more quickly recently.
Sounds bad ass...

It's sad that a Buick Enclave has a remote start app function, and our bloody $50k BMW's don't..

Not if you are lost in a mall parking lot and cannot remember where you parked. 4-6 minutes is less than the 30 you might spend walking around in circles.

They have to wake up some guy in Munich who switches the fan on.

Remote App's pretty useless. Half the time the GPS won't even sync, and I keep getting error messages saying "car is more than 0.6 miles away, location is not show for security purposes" when the car's parked 2 blocks away.

I haven't touched it, even if I somehow can't find my car, or lock my keys in it, it'd be faster to just call BMW Assist and have them unlock/locate it than to wait for this app.

Agree that there is a lot of wasted potential for this app. The only useful thing is the ability to Google an address and send that to the vehicle in advance. Let's hope that they make further enhancements over time.

Right but send address to vehicle has absolutely nothing to do with the BMW app. I can do that on my computer just fine.

Register European iTunes account and download app for Europe. It should work. Even within EU not all features are working everywhere. For example in UK Horn function is not available because of local law. I have registered my Connected drive account in Germany, everything is working so far.
