n20 stage 1 CEL light
I just installed my burger tuning stage1 box yesterday.I have 2012 f30 328i and today i have a check engine light. I hooked my obdII scanner to my car to read error. I can not connect. i think i remember seeing something about this box blocks the obdII connection. how can i find out this code on my car.
Thanks Aaron |

i found the code p0440 evap error. This is not a stage one issue. I am trying to reset but my scanner will not reset this code for some reason.

Try uninstalling the BMS. Clear the code. Drive for a bit and see if the code returns. If it doesn't return re-install the BMS. Let us know how it goes.

Correct. If u change to map 0 you can read codes thru obdii port. I'm not sure you can write thru that port. I can read this code but cannot reset it. I need to uninstall the bms and try to reset with my reader.

so i finally got around to installing my used bms stage 1 for my n26 back in. I ran 2000 plus mile and no CEL and then all of sudden I get the CEL. P0440 EVAP erro. I had to clear CEL.....after about 200 miles.... CEL back same error. I wonder if I got a bad USED stage 1 from a seller on here?

Originally I put it by the master cylinder as stated in the directions. I found it did indeed did get very wet. I took it out for a couple of months. I put it back in wrapped in a rubber glove and zipped tied it in a different spot.....no water got to it this time. BMS is saying i need to send them a bmw specific code (six digit). they suggest I buy some 150.00 cable to read my code. F that.

if you are asking if stage 1 is causing this issue then yes I am sure. everytime i run the bms stage one. I get this p0440 evap CEL. if I reset and remove bms I do not get this CEL ever. I stopped running the bms stage one for months and just started again running the bms stage one and CEL is back with same code. |

Something to try though, leave the blue patch stock as is done for the electronic wastegate. There was an older DME version that ran better that way. Mike |

you can read codes by changing the map to "0". |
