Without naming them any geopolitical conflict/events and bbc/sky news live is necessary or international footie events on bbc/itv.
Overall £150 odd its worth it. I can't see how cancelling it will make life better.

The licence fee is like Council Tax IMO, we all consider we pay too much for the actual benefit WE each receive, but it's the way it's done.

I would much rather pay £150 a year, just for iPlayer, than the other commercial 'catch ups' where it's constant adverts which you can't skip unless you pay. So just like the BBC, then!
Nice try. But my answer is no, because the agenda forced is too intense and diverse I simply dislike it. I do charity work but not fancy to fund BBC at this point.

'You need a TV Licence to watch or record programmes on a TV, computer or other device as they're broadcast, and to watch on-demand BBC programmes on iPlayer' -gov

Too late. It's already happened in every part of society that I see.

Lowest common denominator here we come.

The recent Covid fiasco highlighted this very well IMO.

It's more the fact you are forced to have to pay for it for a service you don't use, more than the cost.

It's a bit like saying you need to pay for Sky Sports when you never watch Football.

Also BBC news is Biased as hell. The radio stations are now rubbish, and they don't produce any decent TV content IMO anymore anyway.

Has anyone actually had an inspector come round even after all the letters?

everyone says BBC news is biased - whether they are left or right leaning. Not sure how they manage to be biased against everyone!

And they've also removed themselves from Sonos Radio, forcing you to use their own BBC sounds app. A sneaky way to cross reference your email to the license database. I hate underhanded BS like that. Similar to Netflix 4K throttling content to 720p if you use a Roku type box with ad blockers, even though you're paying for the service. They will all make you pay somehow, whether you get what you pay for or not, or if you even want what they're peddling in the first place.

The missus wants it for iPlayer but I never watch BBC stuff. I didn't mind paying them to produce Top Gear, but now that's gone, I have zero interest in the Beeb.

Binned the license off a couple of years ago. Just confirm that you no longer watch live tv or iplayer and no-one has ever knocked.
£2.99 a month for NowTV entertainment, £5.99 for Disney (via o2) and £4.99 to piggyback a Netflix account - cheaper and far better quality programming than the beeb churn out.

That might be the reason but then you don't need a TV licence to listen to the radio.
