Spotted a 2012 F30 3-Series at The Ring today

Reported on BIMMERPOST HOMEPAGE.

I came across it coincidentally when I was at the M testcenter in Nürburg.

It was a 4 cylinder diesel version, judging by the sound of it.

Awesome, I hope we get to see more before end of this year. These pics are making me want to wait for the F30 instead of getting an e92 lci.

Great shots, and thanks for sharing!

We've never seen those wheels before, and it looks like the wheel/fender gap has been reduced vs. other photos.

Definitely new wheels we haven't seen on the F30 test cars yet. But I think the reduced fender gap in the rear is because the car is being captured while accelerating and the back end suspension is under load.

At least we know the F30's stance will look great with looks great with a little bit of lowering tho!

Yes, I suspect you are right about that.

One other thing I noticed with these newest pictures, is that the front (and rear?) brakes seems smaller than on that mule first spotted in Nov. '09.

I'm think both sets of wheels are 17". What do you guys think?

Yes they are smaller, as the OP said, this is likely to be a 4cyl diesel. The bigger brakes were on a 6cyl model, perhaps the like a 335.

It looks big. Any speculation on size compared to the e90?

These 3's keep growing to e39 or even e60 5 series proportions while the F10 dwarfs its predecessor. I guess increased size yields more model room for the 1 and, ultimately, an even smaller city car but the expansion of the 3's dimensions need to slow at some point, right?

Cool shots! Is it me or do the windows look really big as though the roofline is too tall? Especially around the Hofmeister kink.

Just a part of the camouflage cladding. Not indicative at all of what the real tail lights will be.

If they don't slow the growth, the 1er is going to be the model that carries the tradition of BMW's making small, nimble vehicles.

Maybe the 3 series, which keeps growing will become an exclusive model for the US and it's growing people.
