Love this. The Dakota Leather feels too much like the Sensatec Synthetic Leather. Merino should be the standard leather...

Wow!
Fantastic interior. I'm expecting delivery of my F30 ( 335d ) with the same merino leather, in a couple of weeks. 😄

That interior is absolutely stunning. The pattern in the seats with the side bolsters and contrasting stitching truly is one of a kind stunning. Congratulations.

To the OP, I think this looks great. It's such a nice way to keep the interior dark, but not straight black, as you mentioned. I really like it.

Some of the debate over "fake CF" comes from it being trim that is effectively "stuck" on as opposed to being structural. The dash, door panels, console, etc. aren't fully CF, and can easily be replaced with plastic, vinyl, leather, aluminum, etc. pieces. Nothing wrong with that, IMHO, but it's not the same as the CF pieces you see on "real" race cars. These are the entire panel or other piece, and are super light as well as being fully functional and/or structural. The thing is that most of these pieces are often very flimsy, would not be what you'd really want in a daily driver, and may not be legal for use on public roads.
As to how they will age, I think we can get some idea of this by looking at cars from the 90's and 00's. Some people went nuts in Porsches (and other makes) with wood trim kits, CF-look, etc., and those often look really dated today. Many 996-era 911's look bad enough on the outside with their blobby fenders and bumpers, but the interiors really do them in. There seemed to be a time when lots of 996 Turbos, which managed to make even that poor series look decent enough, were ordered with (or equipped in the aftermarket with) wood-grain kits that were totally inappropriate. I think the OP's car is tastefully done, and the seats are awesome. I'd like to see BMW offer a more Range Rover-like selection of colors and materials for the USA, but I seem to be in the minority. I chose the Cinnamon interior for my X5 because I simply could not stand another black interior, and I think that BMW's beige and gray interiors are awful. The lighter ivory/etc. colors look great, but are less practical with children. I would like to at least have the option for other interior colors, although I can't say that I'd be willing to pay the premium for the Individual options. |

Totally agree with the other responses thus far. That interior is very tastefully done and looks great. Honestly, wouldn't mind if the M3/M4 had an interior kit like this rather than seats with gaudy M emblems stuck on them.
