The residuals in the US are much higher yet their sales in the US are plunging and BMW sales in Canada are growing. BMW Canada is basically hiding the total price to consumers with absurdly low residuals. They can't raise the MSRP quickly enough to cover the Canadian dollar so I believe that they are using residuals to make up for it. |

Hey I'm debating between a used 2015 335i Performance Edition and a MY2017 with M packages I and II depending on what kind of discount I can get. Has anyone gotten, or heard of, someone getting a MY2017 for 7% under invoice?

MY2017 just came out. Typical discount you should be looking at would be about 6% off the configured msrp. There are no factory credit as they are still doing the MY2016 clearance right now. As a matter of fact, all dealers across Canada is doing this 3 days special factory promo by offering a bit more credit allowance on the factory side. For the 3 series, an extra $1000 on top of the current month $2000. But as usual, dealers will tend to blend in this into the grand total discount, therefore, you really have to know what you should aim for during negotiation. For example, you tell dealer I want $3000 factory credit + 7.5% off the configured MSRP.

Time is on my side so I think I will wait until the factory incentives are out for the MY2017 and go from there... thanks Bobblehead.
I have one other question maybe you can answer. When I configure a 2017 340i XDrive and I pick the MPerformance Package with the 19 M Double Spoke Style 442m instead of the 19"M Star Spoke Style 403M the price goes up by $400.00 even though both rims say $0 additional costs. The sales person could not explain to me why it went up $400.00. I suggested it was because of the different tire sizes but he said that if that was the case it should not be advertised as a $0 upgrade. Any thoughts? |

Standard wheel is 442M - M package will add $1900
If you opt for the 403M wheel - M package will be lowered by $400 to $1500. If I looked at the ordering guide which was published back in July 2016. The latter will not have any price changes suggested when ordering this 403M. So, in other words, BMW Canada made the change on its own without notification. That's the best way of putting it. |
