Moving from 3GT to 4GC series would be downgrading interior space specially back legroom. Sure the 4 Series is a lovely car but then again only you know what sort of things you need from the car.

Good luck and let us know what you end up with.

I'd be considering a base M3 if the 4GC's hatch isn't necessary. I figure it'd be $7K+ in options on top of the 435GC to get what the base M3 offers (MSport, M Brakes, 19" Wheels, Nav, & Heated Seats). At that point it's around 10K difference for something that can run with 911s, has much better steering and handling, a LSD, and will have lower depreciation (especially in the long-run).

Size is not a huge factor, my wife has an X5 if we need to haul anything around. I liked the size of the GT but it was not a decision point in my original purchase. I am leaning toward a 435i Xdrive Coup, would love to get it in EB II-that was the color of my GT and there are not many of those around where I live. Had huge compliments on that color.

A EB-II 435 xDrive Msport coupe with nav, heated seats, and M brakes is $57K MSRP. MSRP for a YMB M3 is $62.5K base and comes with all that stuff, and the M4 is $64.5K. Just saying .

My local dealer has a nearly loaded (MSRP $62,725) EBII 2014 435 xDrive coupe in stock. They want $57,725, but who knows maybe they'd cut a better deal given it's a 2014.

I took a look at the M235i xdrive over the weekend, although didnt get to drive I like the looks of it but it is a lot smaller, just not sure that is a good size for me. I found an almost identical one at a local dealer as you note above, but they put that weird aluminum trim on the dash and it looks cheap-totally changes the look of the dash. That would have to be changed. I also found a mineral gray that looks really nice, but that EB is striking.

I took the M235i xDrive out for a drive tonight, as well as the 435i xDrive coup. For me it's a no brainier, the winner by a wide margin is the M235i, an awesome drive and power all the way through the top end. It rained like all hell this evening so it was nice to get the car out in some wet weather, held the road tight with the all season run flats. Dealer working on a trade to get me the EB II with black leather, premium, tech, cold weather. Can't wait to get it.
