limitations of the N55 motor?

Has anybody found the limits of the N55 yet? The N20 motor seems to be blowing up when pushed a little according to the posts I've read over there. Just wondering if anyone has personally experienced any major issues or heard of anything. This platform is several years old now, so if something was going to happen I'm sure we'd know by now.

I have driven over 60K miles on 2 separate N55s. I fortunately haven't had any issues to date.

I haven't had any issues with any of the 4 3 series I have ever owned, or my x3

You're never gonna find the limit (or anywhere near the limit) with those "tunes". Those are factory tunes with warranties.

No kidding, I was confirming his long term reliability.

And if we think outside of the box, that is what BMW limited them at, so clearly they had a good reason for that. If they just wanted to suck money from us, they would offer a higher output version for more money, or "stage 2" with additional hardware.

They do, they are called M3 and M4. Bmw doesn't have a reason to make cars close to the power range of an M car if they can sell you the actual M car for more money.
