Was that from a breakers ??

Any links if so

As mentioned above not sure if will keep the car more than a year -pcp, so don’t wan5 to overspend just in case
They would appear to be, the seller was 'parts_sale2016'.

Although I just searched ebay for various terms like, 'BMW Rear ARB' , 'BMW Rear Sway' and 'BMW anti roll bar'.

Then use the filter to look for used listings.

Think I may have just got lucky as I can't see any on there at the mo.

I got the price back from Birds today for their kit front and rear - £400+VAT!!

Does it make that much of a difference?

Would appear so.

I’m looking more to limit the body roll esp on fast bends.

Guess it just depends how much you want to spend. With any kind of mod the sky’s the limit.

The Birds (H&R) bars make a huge difference - my car corners very flat.

I disagree with Tengo. I left the bars in place when I had the Ohlins Road & Track coilovers installed and they work well together. I had some concerns that bars + coilovers would be too much but the overall setup has plenty of adjustability in the damper settings.

One tip : the bar ends can touch the track rod ends when the suspension is in full droop and there's some steering lock applied. Shorter drop links are required - SuperPro make a nice adjustable set priced around £100.

Hence why I added that Kevin Bird has said that the ARBs have quite a different impact on xdrive v sdrive cars.

Well just had another quote from Bmw for the changeover.

Now they want £168 for the parts but labour has gone up from £130 to £320 -£514 depending if wheel alignment is required !!!!!

But steep - might have to try an independent

£168 for parts sounds about right.

its a paif of a job to fit. you got to lower the rear subframe which means disconnecting the brake lines etc etc

you can do it on the car just but its not easy. my mate fitted mine but was defo a 2 hour job

Erm, no you don't. No brake lines need disconnecting.

From memory- Support chassis, remove wheels, remove front subframe brackets, undo ARB links, loosen but do not remove rear subframe bolts. Remove front subframe bolts and lower front edge down enough to get access to saddle clamps. Remove those and extract ARB. Refit reverse order.

I did in 2 hours on my drive. A workshop should take 1.5 max.

Glad I double checked with them to get a firmish quote - initially I was advised it’s only 4 bolts shouldn’t take more than an hour or so.

Just think the potential extra £200 for wheel alignment is a bit heavy though.

Might try an independent see what they quote.

Would be tempted if I knew I was keeping for more than a year - as that’s when pcp expires and still unsure if keeping or upgrading.

I didn't do a wheel alignment after. You don't upset any of the parts that would affect the wishbone geometry, so providing the subframe is located correctly nothing should move.

An independent fitted mine.

I had a service (vehicle inspection and oil change), install of ARB and custom geometry applied for a grand total of £500.

It was Deutsche Tech in Milton Keynes. https://www.deutschtech.co.uk/

Bit of a trek for you but they have courtesy cars. They did all of that to mine within the day.

I’ve bought and fitted one now.

Good upgrade.

Are you on the f30 Facebook page as there were a couple interested on there when I posted about my upgrade ?
