2014 435i or 2015 Dodge Charger SRT
The charger SRT is roughly $7,000 more than the 435i
Which would you get and why?

I had a Charger RT before, wouldn't recommend it. It's just a boat. Weighs a ton and although even the RT has a HEMI and good power on paper, it doesn't translate well aside from sound because it weighs so much.
The SRT8 would be an improvement, but it weighs even more. When I got my 335i I was surprised by how powerful 300hp felt, it felt like the 335i was very efficient at getting the power down. The Charger only comes in automatic as well FWIW. So for me I'd go with the 435i without a doubt. |

Depends on what you are looking for ... 435 has a better luxury/power balance

Lots of deals on scatpacks down here. I will be die hard hemi til i die. 2 of my buddys have scatpacks. Both run 11s with tune, tstat, and intake. Those cars come pretty loaded also. Unfortunately that parts are just as expensive as bmw. Personally i would choose the hemi but not for $7k more. Do not get a srt8! The scatpack has the same drivetrain and is much cheaper.

It's a Dodge. Usually found at the bottom of the list for J.D. Power's dependability study that looks at vehicle issues 3 years down the road.

I rented a stock charger and I realize this is not the RT or SRT8 version but holy shit that thing was a boat. Heavy, underpowered and total lack of refinement. To me these cars shouldn't even be cross-shopped as they're made for completely different people... straight line speed is pretty sweet I guess but it comes at a sacrifice... a properly tuned FBO 435i could hang with a charger RT. Would it win probably not but it'd be close

Have you posted the same question on a Charger site? I'm guessing they weren't any more complimentary about our beloved Bimmers than some here are about the Charger.
My last two Dodges were Vipers and those Dodges weren't under powered boats. As some have said, the 4 series and the Charger are very different cars. Spend some time in each, and buy the one that makes you smile. For enthusiasts there really isn't an objective answer to what is a subjective question. If you were looking for objectivity you'd be shopping a Camry against an Accord.

Egh I wouldn’t trust that. I honestlt think you can just pick up a bad apple from a tree I have a 2012 Charger as my project/show car that I got in 2013 and has had two problems with 76k miles. The alternator and 1 spark plug went out. Besides that not a problem. Compared to my friends 17’ camaro ss that has been at the dealer atleast 6 times this year alone. And this list said chevy had about half the ranking as dodge for one example alone. So take these suggestions from these sources with a grain of salt. My 2 cents.

BMW all the way! For Me personally I don’t like the inside of the Dodges and since that is where we spend 100% of the time while driving I can’t see myself ever buying a SRT.

Just read all the comments. Seems to be a lot of hate for Mopar here 😅. I used to be strictly a Mopar guy when i got my first car my 12’ Charger but I’ve grown and taken a lot of appreciation for different brands. I currently have a 16’ FBO Fiesta ST as my daily. But really want a F30 335 6 speed to replace it. Just been waiting for a good deal both for my trade in and on the 335.
