Ill begin my search, this would be the best option as the original could be kept and replaced when selling or returning at end of pcp.

Im working in Chelmsford for a few days and have noticed a Cooper dealership near my digs so will call in to price up genuine parts!

Only problem is......the back box is one piece all the way to the CAT. You have to cut it, then join the two.

I have investigated this mod, what I needed to find out was the diameter of the pipes....I have a suspicion the D's exhaust is a larger diameter, and joins the back box in a slightly different position. Actualy my pipe looks slightly oval, whereas the 335i's looks round.....might be optical illusion.

Pic of 335i with M Performance rear box, note clamp where old pipe has been cut.

I would have thought a custom exhaust company would be able to knock up something along the lines of this.

It might whistle though...

It does look a quality item! Is that what Aldur had fitted to his? Maybe if I have a listen to his I might feel compelled to have it!

Yes, except the one shown has single 90mm tailpipes each side, Aldur had the double "racing" tailpipe each side. Same silencer, choice of 3 tailpipe designs.

Ok, so the sound would be the same then? Not that I'm expecting a significantly better noise on a diesel, but always good to check it's definitely not worse!

Any power gains?
How heavy is the twin exit quad system versus the twin exit Left sided system.

I wonder if the 340d will have dual exit exhausts?

Have you heard anything definite on a 340d? If there was then there's likely to be a good chance it could be fitted to the 335d, which would be handy for me as I could get it for cost price!

No just wondering. Don't know if it will even be called the 340d, but there's a chance as the 335i is changing to 340i!

Or will they add a 340d with the triple turbo engine from the M40d?!

The sound is a bit deeper and sportier, noticeable but not a massive change like with our petrol exhausts.

ACS don't claim any power increase for the exhaust alone. Generally they are a bit lighter and better breathing than stock but I don't have two off the same car to weigh at the moment.

I doubt it. The market for that would be tiny.

The tripple unit won't work with RHD in the F30 chassis.
