Audi R8 coupe is the answer. Next level performance, naturally aspirated V8 and manual transmission. That is a combination that won't be around in the future.

Still looks good today, with the right combination of body colour and sideblades.

Sounds great, looks like the 25k SLK200. If you are after that kind of thing then surely the proper SL or a used Ferrari California would be a lot more worthy of a retirement present?

I think the F type as a series is pretty much a classic.

It ticks most of the boxes.

Sort of that timeless quality to it.

The F-type is a beautiful car but it's tiny inside, a friend of mine got a convertible recently(coupe looks better in my opinion) but I can't push the the seat far enough to get comfortable behind the steering wheel and I'm just under 6ft.

Hi all, have lined up a few test drives for wenesday morning, first up will be a m5 followed by new m3 and then an m4, may just take a grancoupe and m50d whilst I'm there.
In the process of arranging the audi artillery then off to porshe, should keep me out of mischief for a few weeks.

Sounds like lots of fun!! I said it before but try and line up a test drive of a Panamera, the looks aren't to everyone's taste but one of the best cars I have driven for a 4 door carry 4 people+luggage etc!

Andrew will be loving that shopping list at HJCheater! Enjoy the test drives, feel free to get in touch whenever your looking to trade any if those in and your not happy with their offers! . I think in terms if special it might feel like:-

M5 > M4 > M3+M50D

Hi all, I took the m5 for a test drive wenesday morning, the conditions where far from ideal very greasy.
What can I say, the start up noise, mseats, its a bit special just sitting in one.
Did a bit of town work very relaxing, then dual carriageway tried giving it some beans, not a good idea in heavy rain!.
Traction control light was coming on all the time scrabbling for grip, the power train is in another galaxy compared to my 335d, but trying to use that kind of power in the wet is beyond my meagre skills.
Conclusion need to take the car out in the dry before making a decision.
We went back to the dealership and had a search for a few cars, lots of m3 verts already built, m6 gc in tanzanite christmas tree spec, list 119k, discounted down to 87k something to think about.
Decided to do m3 and m4 another day when it is dry.
Popped into jag and have got a test drive booked for next wenesday f type v6s, should be fun.
V8s vert has 495 hp sounds ok salesman told me he'd have to get one from jag direct to try!.

Yes, after owning an xdrive, starting to wonder the point of very powerful rear wheel drive car for day to day driving. As soon as is rains or the weather get shitty, you are at a disadvantage – whats the point in that? Alright for those that like the occasional sideways fun but you are not going to do that all the time and it doesn’t look good to other road users.

Don’t get me wrong I’d love an M3 - but for some of the year I couldn’t use it to its full potential, bit of a waste really.
