4 Series M-Sport steering wheel = different style paddles?
So I was playing around with the 4 Series configurator and when I selected the M-Sport steering wheel option, I noticed that the paddle shifters on the steering wheel changed to a different design.
In all of the 3 Series configs and in the 4 Series with a 'regular' steering wheel, I was used to seeing the first type of paddles below. The ones shown with the M-Sport steering wheel for the 4 Series look a bit like M6-style paddles to me. Could anyone confirm if this is right or would this just be a bug in the configurator? |

As far as I'm aware if you have the Sports Automatic Transmission(2TB) as an option then you will have the steering wheel on the right.

In the US configurator, the M Sport steering wheel have paddles like on the left. Until you select DHP, at which point the paddles change to those on the right.
If I then change the display to the 360 view, it shows the paddles on the right no matter what. |

Guys he was asking about the paddle shifters, not the wheel.
Most likely a bug on the site since they use 3d renderings not photos. Somebody probably opened up the paddles from the wrong Msport wheel and that's what you get. If you add DHP to get those paddles and hover over the description for VSS, it actually says "Steering wheel will vary by model and not reflective of a specific model" Either way you should be getting the same wheel as every other F30.

I'm basing my information from my country. Your are correcting in terms of the 3 series but not with the 4 series in my country. With the 4 series regardless wether or not you have a sport line, m-sport etc you need to have the sport auto transmission in order to have the shift paddles depicted in the picture on the right with the 4 series. If you have a standard auto with m-sport you get an m-sport wheel without paddles. If you have sport auto with any 4 series you get the steering wheel on the left. If you have sport auto with any 4 series but order steering wheel M leather(710) you will have the steering wheel on the right. This information is not intended to insinuate you it is for the purposes of informing you of the ordering options within my country. |
