Had it installed yesterday. It's got a throatier voice and the burble is pretty sweet. One immediate concern is when changing gears there's a definite drone in the cabin for 1-2 seconds that's not entirely pleasant. I'm hoping that sorts itself out over the week as the exhaust breaks in.
I'm not sure what dealerships typically do with the stock exhausts once removed, but I had to ask that mine be returned to me in case the perf exhaust doesn't work out. |

great stuff
I kept my stock exhaust as I'd likely part out the performance one if I sold the car down the track. |

I ended up replacing the rubber hangers with stronger ones after I couldn't adjust the clamp to get the height I wanted. Fixed it up just fine.
I think the exhaust note "drone" you referred to isn't drone in the classical sense as that is a persistent noise at a speed, not shifting gears. give it a few hundred km's to carbon up and if it's what I think it is you'll find it's just the note under load. as you said, it goes away. remember it's different to what you had but you'd also notice similarities if you were in a stock setup. the best noise is the shift between gears when you're, say, accelerating quickly to merge onto the highway and your foot is flat to the floor |

This came in yesterday. Thanks Stuart! I just booked it to be installed early May at my dealer. Spoke to them and they are willing to do it, so I prefer to have it done there. Will keep you guys updated with install pics and videos. |

Got my BM Performance Exhaust installed amongst a few other mods and its awesome for me..
Really OEM like.. The only way i can describe it is its kinda like an OEM Golf R. There is even the DSG fart noises on gear changes with hard acceleration. Overall not a bad purchase and suits the luxury demeanour of the car. |

I'm not usually the OCD type, but I went around checking out some workshops and speaking with them. They just didn't give me a good vibe about the whole thing, trying to make it out to be a more complex job than it is.
The service manager at Autoclassic was great, with the best customer service and lowest quote, so I went with them. Obviously the 1hour labour cost is nothing to them, and they are doing it more as a gesture of goodwill since I bought the car from them. Downside is that they are really fully booked, but not a problem I can wait. Anyway I'll add some videos here when done. |

After several weeks of breaking in the perf exhaust, the volume is coming in nicely, and is giving me a nice smooth tone during acceleration. During idle it gives a nice deeper rumble, and is virtually silent when cruising. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.
The louder exhaust when starting a hard acceleration still sounds oddly muted to me, but with the volume increase it's less pronounced. I'm also not a fan of the unexpected volume of the exhaust on a cold start - especially in a closed garage - but that only happens once per day, so, meh. All in all I'm glad I got it. It makes the car sound a bit more aggressive, and serves a functional purpose in letting me hear the engine better for shifting cues. |

One of the very first thing I changed on the car and one of the best decisions made.
The best thing, misus thought it was stock with a slight engine tune

What parts/items come with the M Performance Exhaust?
Does anyone know what parts/items come with the M Performance Exhaust? I heard there is a homologation certificate? What else?
