When I thought about getting a BMW I looked, test drove both the 328 and 335, I was very impressed with the handling and build quality. When I drove the 335i, it's speed felt effortless, I just had to have the 335.

Now, I really didn't get all caught up in specs before buying, or realize how fast and nimble this car really is. It just felt nice to drive and I usually get my speed fix from the motorcycles I own.

Now that I've got some miles on her, I've really started to push it a little harder, but still waiting on a deferred speeding ticket, sept 10 date, I'm still not letting it all hang out.

Tonight I rolled up on a 650i and we had a little go. He rolled up to the stop sign a second before me and took off! I just wanted to look at the car and give him a thumbs up, but he decided to wick it up and I obliged.

Yeah, I'm more impressed with the F30 even more now and I'm think he is also.

Fun machine.

I do have a question. When in Sport/Sport+ AT, I hear this muffled boom sound when it upshifts. Very sweet, but what's the technical reason why?

Not complaining that's for sure, I think I got a good one!

I think the only reason is because it's cool and gives you some feedback when the car shifts. The tranny is perfectly capable of making a fast shift that you barely feel, but when in sport mode, a little bit of feedback makes you more connected to the car.
