Its preventing them getting into your house to nick the keys which you want to focus on. Lock barrels being a big one.

The ultimate combination in my oppinion, the Disklok as a visual deterrent which will put off a lot of thieves, and the Autowatch ghost just in case they get hold of your keys with the disklok key on. Your car is going no where unless they have a low loader! |

West Midlands Police have 2000 burglaries per month for car keys. A large proportion of those are from burglars entering rear or side doors by snapping the Euro cylinder lock that literally takes seconds and is relatively quiet. Changing the locks for anti snap locks is simple and takes minutes to change. Locks such as the ABS Avocet lock are around £40 each as opposed to £10 for those easily snappable locks.

You're still better living in a nicer area though. Yes Cars are stolen from the decent areas too.. the car thief scum do venture out to where they know there's going to be nice cars, but ..Using this Site to check car crime at different postcodes https://hub.co-opinsurance.co.uk/park-smart/
.. it's clear the worse areas to live have a lot more incidences of car crime compared to the nicer areas generally, which is why car insurance is lower if you live in one of the better areas. So.. 1) move to a decent area 2) fit a disklok and Autowatch ghost |

With areas within West Midlands tightening up on security, the gangs are actively moving in to Warwickshire and Gloucestershire.
Same gangs but they know people in nice areas have expensive cctv but bugger all else. Car thefts in Warwickshire have increased dramatically since last year. A bit like gangs in Newcastle would head in to posher bits of Yorkshire for thieving as it was far simpler and less risk than doing it in North East. |
