Unfair

A bit unfair to compare M3 with regular 3/4. I do agree 4 is not the best looking car out there though.

LOL - I would say more like Joan Rivers. Nipped, tucked, streeeeetched - nearly featureless. And trying really, really hard to impress.

It's all good though. I suppose I'm not the target customer anymore. No biggie.

I disagree. I see the E46 M3 as a timeless BMW design like the 507 roadster and 3.0 CSL coupe.

The E46 is classic in its own right but definitely looks super old compared to the 4er. The 4er looks like a new class..more baby 6er..so I guess BMW sort of got that part right....

The E46 M is the only E46 that still looks good especially if its outfitted with CSL parts. However, looking at the new 435 next to it really shows how much more premium the newer car is compared to the old. The 4 has a more GT coupe look to it much like the Audi A/S5.

Like someone mentioned comparing a non M to a M isn't apples to apples. Wait till the new M4 is out then we'll see.

I don’t like the front of the 4 series at all. Interior is not so hot looking either, and seats look flat and uncomfortable. Back looks ok.

Not sure yet I'm totally sold on the 4er looks wise, but it does make the E46 look quite a lot like a toy, a bit plasticky, and slightly flabby.

Not a fan of the mods either.

E46 looks happyyyyy, F32 looks Angry Grrrrrr..

Looks great in mineral grey but, whilst I like the chrome window trim, the chrome boomerang looks hideous (sorry).

Also, what gives with those seats - they are definitely not sports seats.

Overall though, this car looks better every time I see it. Just needs the M Sport finish.

PS: love the E46

E46 M3 IMO is timeless, ill take a pure NA I6 any day over the f32. You just can't replace the wonderful sound when you open up the s54, never fails to make me smile.

Wow it's already on NYC streets? Nice comparo. The f32 look like the old Mazda mx6 from some angles. Not bad though

The E46 M3 is a sport car, a true M.
The 4 luxury line with the chrome side vent, looks like a toy next to it!
It looks like a 5 serie next to the E46.

Agreed -

What's the point of this?

M3 is also on non-stock wheels and pretty modded from the looks of it.

I liked the F32 a lot more before it was compared to the E46. While it looks more modern, it doesn't have that standout quality to it. Just my opinion.

LOL at you guys getting bent out of shape about the e46 being an m3 and modded. It is also what? TWELVE YEARS OLD and to some looks better than the new 4. That in itself should stand for something.

+1. I have the F30 only because I think of it as a "mid size" car that I use for work. The 2 should be just the right size/weight for a "sports sedan".
