K40 Radar Detector
Has anyone installed the new K40 RL360i Radar Detector and Laser Defuser g5 on their F30?
Any pros or cons with this device? |

Pros- Rear radar and laser protection, no visible display or mount inside the cabin, two LED's integrated into the speedometer cluster, very handy remote to customize the settings to your needs AND a no speeding ticket for a year guarantee. Worth the cost to me.

"Is this item still available?" The K40 is a hardwired radar detector/laser jammer combo, frankly the most expensive combo you can probably get at the moment - cost you probably at least $2k installed. Front and rear laser jammers, plus hidden radar units and the user LED's can be integrated pretty tightly. Functionality wise, you aren't going to get any better performance than you would out of a 2 or 4 head laser interceptor system and a good radar detector. But it won't be as fancy, and if you want to be sold the "Best" for your car then it has a good market. For $2k the ROI on the investment isn't quite there...you can get a great system for half of that, do a super clean install and still have $1k left for lawyer fees if you want.

Plus there's dozens of guns and aiming techniques, so each one again is a bit abstract to measure. If you google you can find some of the spreadsheet that compares some of the systems.
