I'm still having trouble finding the right combination of SALAPA codes to make this work. The only problem is getting the Bluetooth Data profile to show up when I pair a phone to my car. I do see the BMW Live and Internet options under BMW assist but it will ask me to contact my dealer to activate data transfer via bluetooh.
When I pair my phone, I only get Telephone, Audio, Office and Additional Telephone. Maybe I just need to find European F30 VIN that has a native 6NK and add the relevant SALAPA codes to my VO. |

I have included the PDF that shows what is included with the Combox upgrade. My car already has USB/AUX connector, do i have to get another one?

If you already have 6FL (USB/AUX in the armrest), then no.

Not usually, but if you wanted to be sure, why wouldn't you just check your vehicle options list, and verify you have 6FL, rather than leave it for chance?

Just stumbled across this one ebay and it's seems like a steal but there's barely any info on it. I'm thinking about just buying it so I can play around with this and see if I can code my car's VIN to it since it's dirt cheap.
If I was to plug this in and remove my CIC Head Unit, will I be able to see HU_NBT on my list of ECU's? Also I'm not sure if I need a specific NBT Head Unit for the F30 - are they all the same? I can probably buy the PnP adapter from Bimmerretrofit to get the Nav and Voice control working. Seems like I can use my existing 8.8" screen and CIC controller for this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HARMAN-AUTO-...7b93a0&vxp=mtr |

Beyond the NBT Unit istelf and the CAN Filter for Navigation and Voice Recognition Activation, I do not think it is Plug-N-Play to install as the Pinouts are different from CIC, and you will also need additional FSC Codes for BMW Apps and Sat Radio imported and activated into it if you want those features. Lastly, the car cannot be ISTA/P programmed with NBT installed, so you will need to swap back in your CIC unit for any dealer programming.

What is the point of swapping the gear shifters? Just for looks?

It looks and feels better given the shape is different. The Wheel with Paddles is next though.

I think too it may matter what the starting point is in terms of SPort, M-Sport, Adaptive Drive, etc.

You have 6NL, so you have BT Streaming without coding.

Shawn,
1) Is there an updated "F30 Cheatsheet" with options and how to etc? The first post has an old one from 2012? 2) What are my coding options for the following: - Changing comfort mode to have stiffer steering wheel of sport, but Comfort shifting points? - Setting Sport mode as default, I know it can be done, but is there a guide for things that aren't on the cheat sheet or do I just rummage through this thread? |

Hi,
I got a quote from bimmerretrofit for a Combox retrofit. They Sent me a quote with the bellow information. My F30 320i comes with Non-Nav. Just a basic iDrive with 6NH option. According to the bellow info "Navigation map Satellite View" is shown. Does this mean i get Navigation option? Sort of confused... I have included the attachment. Combox Media Retrofit for F-Series BMW Vehicles - $539 Features of the Combox Media retrofit: - Album art covers (over USB port in the armrest) - Bluetooth Audio - Office menu (for iPhone only Contacts are currently available, other phones can have text messages, Calendar, Tasks, Emails, etc.) - Navigation map Satellite View - New version of the Voice Control powered by Nuance including One-Shot Destination Entry feature - Internet and BMW Live* (Optional. Please check the available options) It may be required to have your CIC head unit internal software updated to the latest version for the Combox compatibility. Check with one of our specialists if you unsure about your CIC software version. |
