M3,M4, or M5?
as the title asks... With the deals on the M5...would you pick a 4 or 3? Why?

Personally id prefer the M5, seems a more exclusive car and obviously has the better engine but they all seem a good bet.
As the m5 is cheaper on monthlies too would seem odd to spend more on the junior car |

Depends what you want from a car.
I have spent at least a day in each of the M3 M4 M5 and I8. I used to have a E92 M3 and moved to the M5. The best car all round IMO is the M5. And I extend that outside BMW some! For fun the M4 or M3 might be more nimble but the M5 has more torque and grunt. The M5 is a rarer car (good and bad)... up here see more M3/4 than M5. If you want exclusivity luxury speed and bang and olufsen... M5 If you want the ability to go round a corner faster... M4/3 Good luck deciding! Mat |

M2...sorry I do like the m235i but it's too girly for me, the m2 may be the best m coupe but Bmw aren't stupid, the m4 will have its plus points over it!
I have driven the m4 and 435d m sport and other than the beautiful sound, it was different enough, hence the m5! All in saying is that on PCP the m5 is probably cheaper at the moment, insurance...that may not be so true! |

But where I live there's a shortage of motorways, yet a large number of small twisty lanes. The M5 (or any 5 series sized car) is like a supertanker on them and there are even some where the 3 series is a somewhat tight fit. The M2 would (will?) be a perfect car around here....small(ish), nimble little coupe that goes like it's pants are on fire so can overtake on the teeny tiny little overtaking opportunities available. And as far as I am concerned they could remove the stereo completely so H+K/B+O or not is of little concern |

Andy unless you have kids or need to utilise the space of a 3 or 5 I would deffo choose M4
Although as you said before, I would choose the 435i orD as you can use that for work. |

That's the problem, work have limited me to 140g/co2! 435d is out the window...so in thinking sort something else out for work and buy an M, but it's all if buts and maybes at the moment!
I was next to an m6 GC yesterday, beautiful! |

I test drove the M135i/M3/M5 back to back last summer while I had my e92 M3 CP.
The M135i was a great little hot hatch but ultimately a bit soft. The M3 was by far and away the best handling car, very neat and nimble and felt light footed, but the engine sound wasn't to my tastes and I was quite shocked at the noise it produced. The M5 was a beast of a battle cruiser and felt imperious on the motorway but couldn't offer the handling talents of the M3. None of the engines matched the S65 for thrills, noise or consistency of response but I guess they call that progress. In the end I went with a 335d xdrive touring which I had for 7 months until eventually getting a new M5. Still miss the driveability of the e92 M3 and that engine though. |
