there's a button to fold the mirrors by the window buttons, just press it down and the mirrors will fold in

Edit: if you're talking about coding it to have them fold from the key fob then you have to find someone in your area who can code your car, same as for the convertible top

Hi,

Thanks for the response, I've actually tried everything in the interior of the car and from my key! I only have the option to change side mirror sides so I can adjust my mirror location with the round control bar, but let me give it another try?

Does it matter what year the car is? Mines on a 14 plate.

Thanks mate

If you don't have a button next to the little toggle on your window switch to close the side mirrors then I don't think you have the motor necessary for the mirrors to close.

The mirrors can be folded. It just has to be done manually.

Hi isn't not possible to install the the motor side mirrors along side with the window switch panel to get everything working? Then maybe coded for the key?

How can I get hold of a technician in regards to controlling the convertible with the key?

You could install the motors, however it would require both mirror motors, as well as a new window control switch, and possibly a control unit, I'm not positive. I did a quick search on getbmwparts.com and didn't see a different mirror for a car without the button to close the mirrors and one with. This could mean that you have the motor but without the button it doesn't do anything, or it could just mean that since in america all 4 series have automatically closing mirrors that I can't see a mirror assembly without the motor. I'd recommend going to the dealer and asking them what the exact part number is for the motor and whether it can be installed in your mirror housing or if you need an entire mirror housing.

Also I think you need a piece of hardware/software to get the top to close with the key fob.

Have you tried pushing an holding the Roundel on the key fob for about 3-4 seconds. I fold mine doing that.
