Can't disable alarm motion/tilt sensor

According to the manual, you are supposed to be able to disable the motion/tilt sensor of the alarm by pressing the lock button a second time on the remote within 10 seconds of locking the car. Mine isn't working as documented. Anyone else experience this and have a solution?

I've tried countless times with no luck on my 2016 340i. I tried the procedure on a F25 X3, and it worked perfectly. On the F25 the red light stayed on for a couple seconds to confirm before resuming it's normal blink.

I'm hoping it's something that can be changed with coding.

I have to hold my fob up to the center of the windshield to disable the motion alarm.

Some say that coding folding mirrors on the f30 messes with the ability to disable the tilt/motion alarm...
I have a 16 340i as well and i can't get it to work as advertised. I do have a ton of custom coding including auto folding mirrors. Hasn't bothered me enough to dig further.

After doing some research last night I played around with the coding and didn't have any luck. Might not have found the magic combination.

I'm pretty sure I found the coding to completely disable the interior sensor. I may end up going that route.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm thinking this will disable it?

In BimmerCode:
Roof Function Center -> Expert Mode -> 3002 DWA -> Innenraumschutz ("interior protection")

Did you try holding the fob up by the windshield like mine?

I didn't hold it to the windshield, but I attempted it from in front of the car and pointed it at the clown nose. Was that not the correct procedure that worked for you?

First preference would be to get the functionality to work as designed, but I may have to try this at some point.

I don't know if it's because I have the F33 but I have to hold it pretty much almost touching the windshield for it to turn off the motion sensor.

during the summer, I leave the top down and the dog sits in the car when I run in so I don't want her setting off the alarm.

LOL it's working...
I've been looking for solution to disable motion sensor on my f15.
I've press the locking button twice and didn't work.
Apparently holding the key to the center of the windscreen while pressing lock button disable motion and tilt sensor.
Car is locked and the red led is not blinking.
