Just installed my carbon fiber dash with Estoril blue trim. I wanted carbon fiber interior, and I really liked the blue trim, so I had one of our own Bimmerpost subscribers make the custom dash part for me. I could not believe the quality of the work! He removed the original aluminum hex, then applied real carbon fiber, epoxied, sealed, sanded and polished the parts to perfection. Contact ****************** if you are interested in having work done, tell him I sent you, and his work is simply the best. The two dash pieces are custom, the rest are oem BMW. I also used a carbon fiber handbrake handle and removed the Alcantara boot then replaced it with the stock leather. Eagle eyes will also spot my rear fog light switch and the horse power adding red start button.

All the different variations of carbon fiber and finishes doesn’t bother you?

I’m a believer everything needs to come from the same company for consistency and match.

If you are satisfied, that’s all that matters.

I have to agree, the matte CF bugs me a bit since it's so close to the large glossy piece.

The blue trim does look really nice though.

No the difference in the gloss and the matte finish are fine with me, different types of material for different jobs. The matte shifter will not scratch and actually feels much better, the shifter surround, I could give or take, I might put the original back on.
I could not be more satisfied with Matt Johnson's work. www.ocarbon.com

Agree

you should have just gone full mperformance carbon fiber trim with alcantara

or just wrap with 3M DINOC-CA wrap to keep the CF consistent

the combo of dry and gloss is awful, it doesnt look right

to each their own tho

Looks great, the OEM performance parts for the shifter and boot are always matte style, had my trim panels wrapped with Dinoc CA-421, which is also structured wrap, the difference was much more smaller.
Anyway, very clean interior aside from the cheap red start button, I would immediately change it to a blue one

If you are going to get something custom made, you have ALL aparts made by them.

I’ve seen plenty of non-matte style CF Parts you speak of.

However, finish is just one of the issues if you look closely.

Perhaps this helps to see what I see, though I do not have to zoom in to see it.

What about the difference in design between the 2 matte pieces?

Are bright and dark rows even....or is one 2:1 in one piece and not the other?

And how does that compare to center piece beside them?

Too many different patterns for me in the weave for me.

One would never wear clothes with this many contrasting stripes.

But again, your satisfaction is all that matters.

You know I don't really care at all what anyone else thinks, so since I am retired and do not have to worry about working, or losing my job, or running out of money, I think I shall just go for a quick drive out the "Tail of the Dragon" (https://tailofthedragon.com) and enjoy driving my OCD inducing ZHP 435i (look it up) and have a great time doing it. Sorry I brought it up, I had no idea so many would lose sleep over it, but if that is all so many of you time to do, then continue right on with your petty complaints and opinions. And when I get home tonight I shall go out to eat in my Cadillac CTS-V sportwagon, and by the way it is an automatic so if you want to know why I did not get the 6 speed in it, it is beacause my Corvette is a 6 speed and I am old and I get tired of shifting gears.

When an initial post reads like a paid advertisement for a product (which is totally fine) you can't then get your panties in a knot when folks discuss the product and debate its merits. And you lose all credibility when your argument breaks down to I'm taking my toy and going home. That's like toddler tactics.

Dont post on a public forum if you cant handle opinions and criticism. What do you think was going to happen, we were all going to go "thats the best thing ive ever seen in my entire life while holding your balls"

Some are more critical than others but you need to deal with that

Again nice car, nice interior overall, good effort

I hope you dont stop posting more of your mods because you have inspired me going the custom route

Apparently not.

Notice the mods edited the initial posts and all mention of who supplied CF are gone and that website appears to be banned in the forum as a business that is not a sponsor. Forum member/Business owner appears to be banned as well for running business on forum and non-sponsor.

As i said twice if you were happy with it, that’s all that matters.

Now all you are posting is that you have lots of money in cars, but still no idea how things go together.

I guess the old saying is right about what money cannot buy.

With that in mind, as apparently you aren’t aware and the forum should educate, here is the way it should look for an actual clean install in the same style and weave CF vs a bunch of mismatched parts.

You know, just in case, with all that money you brag about, you decide to actually do it correctly, instead of a bunch of non-matching random pieces thrown together with no sense of style.

I know waddya mean, the difference of the high glossy trim panels and the matte parts around the shifter are a bit disturbing. This is a view of my cockpit, all parts with CF look are wrapped, except the shifter, this is a OEM performance part.
But at least its OP's car, I like the work anyway and at least he has to deal with it.

Well if you looked up what ZHP meant you wouldn't be asking those questions. Come on now senile retired people are always right.

I looked it up - wait no I didn't. I have a ZHP car from back when it wasn't marketing bullshit.
