Yeah I figured that part out, was a little confused on the wiring part. But, I've read some people have drivability issues running E85 so I'm holding off. Also I didn't get a noticeable bump going to stage 2 so I'm holding off any more mods until some firmware gets released to better suit the electric waste gate. I might fabricate my own intake, purely for noise (HP gains have been doubtful). All that's holding me back is trying to locate a MAF bung I can weld to an aluminum pipe

Not trying to be a dick at all honestly. But why did you go from an m5 and 335 to a 328?

Your not a dick lol, I asked myself the same question all the time.

I was searching for the perfect daily driver. Idk why but I was on the hunt for gas mileage & fun.
I got so fed up with that junk 328 that I just got rid of it after 3-4 months of ownership. The fit and finish was off. All wind noises and howls. The motor wasn't smooth and the 4 cylinder feel just wasn't my thing.

Anyways I still have the M5. Never got rid of her. But now I just got a e92 m3. So so happy now it's the PERFECT daily driver for me hahaha.

Here's a pic on the next post I can't attach it for some reason (iPhone app)

I believe it but its not as noticeable when i had my stock V8.

What i am trying to say is that you went from one of the best V6's engines around to a small disp. Turbo engine. No matter what anyone says on this forum site, displacement always dominates turbos (obviously when making the same power numbers from both set up's). If you take your 300hp 335i and put it against the 328i with bms 2, i can tell you that the 335i would be a better car to drive.

Would the 328i keep up? Most likely it would however like you mentioned the fun factor is gone. No matter the tuning or work done on our engines, it will never feel as good as a N/A engine. Also you have to remember that your driving a 4 cyl.!

The best advice i can give you is to trade in for a 335i. Don't waste your money because I know from my own experience that it's impossible to ever get our cars at the same performance as the 335. People are going to trash this comment but thats because they've never really pushed their cars capabilities.

There's 2 things that cause this problem:

- closed fuel loop system. Its harder to really dial in these cars with pump fuel.

- single turbo. Now all performance cars have 2 turbos. A small dia. To spool up the engine quickly & a larger dia. Turbo for power. If they did this sort of set up on our cars, the 335 would be in big trouble.

BMW did this on purpose to separate its power house engines with its super sporty 4 cyl. Turbo engines that deliver fuel economy.

Overall the N20 is the worlds best 4 cyl. Engine. Are there better set up's available? Absolutely. Thats why BMW keeps the 335i available; drivers such as yourself desire that different feeling performance.

Good luck with your future endeavours.
only a 4cly? SO WHAT I had a 450whp sti that was a 4cly.

I think large displacement blocks other than in exotics will become pretty much obsolete in the coming decade.
1 to 2 litres will be the mainstream, with various amounts of tune/turbos/hybrids/.
Larger displacement or not, I am happy with my 328xi in the knowledge that in all weather conditions I will not be far behind a 335 on the road, and definitley not far behind on a track.

I could care less what your sti had lol. Just don't like the feel of a four cylinder. Unrefined, not smooth, after tune it felt like it was being pushed a little farther from comfort for its own good I just hated it.
Hated having a 4 cylinder so much I traded it in after 3 months of ownership for an m3

Today I tested my 420i xdrive Gran coupe with stage 2 jb4. I clocked three 0-100kmh runs with the average time of 5.98sec. so I really have to say that to be able to shave off 2.3 seconds with 600bucks isn't too bad. Car is otherwise stock and I had stuff in the trunk and 20% ethanol mix.

Just purchased a JB4 Stage 2 from BMS, looking forward to some good gains. I come from a pure Infiniti background, first BMW. Looking to get Q50/G37 performance out of the 328i N20. From what I hear and have read its a good platform, for a 4 banger seems to do really well with mods and basic bolt ons.
