E90 none CA key problem

Did my research and could not find much of an answer for the keys that arn't easy access. I just bought an 06 E90 330i, I noticed that I cannot unlock the car unless I am about 5 feet away from it. I figured the key is 6 years old.....is this just BMW or should it work from a further distance. I've been on long trips recently so if it is rechargeable then there is a problem. I love the windows/sunroof down feature but I cant use it because I find myself standing outside of the car waiting for everything to go down. What is the cheapest way to fix this problem?

Thanks,

Beamin'

Hi

Wrong forum, but here goes.

Does the car have tint ?
This is usually the cause of this problem.Metallic tints interfere with the key signal, causing you to have to be very close to the car. Non-Metllic tints work fine

The non-CA key has a permanent battery that is charged when you insert it into the key slot. You cannot change it.
