Love the sound byte that Eric provided on his 328. Goon, yours sounds like that as well?

How's everyone's setups doing?

Eric, is it safe to say the not-a-car-guy wife is still enjoying it?

Judging from the pictures from OP's post, I can tell it fits the base/sport line model rear bumper perfectly after cutting.

So my concern is, has it been tested on the M-sport bumpers with diffuser? And which diffuser?

Hi Josh!

Do you think this exhaust will fit a 228i with minor modification?

Hi

I know there's a length difference amongst the two, but other than that I'm not sure whether anything else would need to be adjusted.

I would highly recommend NOT using a Dremel. Rotating tools are very hard to control in straight lines and arcs in this kind of cutting. We used a mini air saw (reciprocating) and it was really easy to get a smooth and straight line. Obviously, I was pretty nervous about cutting into a new bumper cover, but it went really well.

Was this the touring edition with or without the performance mid-pipe? Those the diamond black tips?

that cut looks very clean I think I'll follow your advice thank you very much!, one more question if you don't mind me asking... I saw a DIY for the M performance exhaust that says you have to cut at a dimple that's on the pipe, do I have to cut at the same spot for this AWE exhaust?

If you are installing the AWE Tuning Touring Edition Exhaust with Performance Mid Pipe there is no need to cut the factory exhaust, otherwise yes... you will need to cut at the dimple

couple of questions-

i have the sportline 328i sulev, and was wondering

1. if I purchased a rear m sport bumper with quad tip diffuser, would the quad tip awe exhaust still fit? or does it require cutting, etc?

2. if it would fit, can you recommend which bumper + diffuser to buy?

3. what is the cost of installation?

thanks

(Im looking to add a front mtech bumper and possibly a rear m sport bumper w/ quad tip diffuser assuming I buy the quad tip exhaust from awe)

Josh,

Any idea if the cutting template can be used on other non-OEM/factory diffusers? Say, an RW Carbon performance diffuser?

It cannot due to the template being designed around the contours of the factory setup.

I'm thinking about getting the full quad setup for my F31 M Sport Wagon. Has anyone tried the 335 M Sport diffuser? I'd rather not cut into mine in case I go back to stock, was thinking I would find a used 335 M Sport Diffuser which should snap into the 328 M Sport bumper. Just need to know if it's the right size in the right place.

Also, has anyone tried this exhaust with a catted downpipe? I may get a stage 2 tune at some point, which requires a high-flow downpipe, but I wouldn't want to ruin the sound that this exhaust was designed to have.

And how aggressive is the sound? I'm looking for something that's subtly noticeable. Basically, I don't want it to sound like I modded my car with a loud exhaust, I want it to sound like it came with an aggressive exhaust note from the factory.

Also curious if anyone has tried this. The diffusers should technically be the same fitment, right?

I can't wait for BMW to get their heads right and just give us the 340 wagon here in the US.
