I saw Terry mention he was working on a new firmware and would post it in a new thread when it was ready for testers, but I never saw the new thread created, so I don't think it's ready yet.
Run on sentence what up!

Curious what the ideal shift points are with this tune... when Hartge 'demos' their tune, they seem to manually shift around 6k on the stock tune and around 6500 with their aftermarket tune for their comparison video.... obviously this car drops boost up top quite a bit, so once the Stage 1 is in, where is the best place to shift for fastest times?

By the way, does this firmware require the solenoid plug to be plugged in? Currently mine is unplugged and everything works great.

"some" cars that still have the pneumatic solenoid (non electronic) will be able to use the solenoid connector along with the new firmware for even more benefits. The newer electronic setup, BMW's change for emissions and or better mileage?, will still only use 2 connections but still have much improved tip-in and drivability on the update. More to come shortly.

When you say "some" cars, are you referring to pre-F30's, or are there some versions of the F30 with pneumatic diverters?

F30s only...My car is a Sept 2012 build and uses a pneumatic (mechanical) solenoid. Most Nov 2012 and newer F30's have the electronic valve.

I see. I'm an April 2012 build, so it would seem mine is pneumatic. Is there anything I can look at to verify (under the hood, realoem.com)? Looking forward too any other deets you can provide us.

If the published dyno charts for stock f30 n55 are correct, the hartage driver should not be shifting the stock car at 6000 rpm, but instead at 6500 rpm (unless the idea is to increase the time intentionally ) Last edited by rallybull; 01-29-2013 at 09:00 PM.. |

Is #9 what we're talking about? It would seem mine is electric (used last seven digits of my VIN to pull data from realoem.com). Or am I way off the mark?
Edit: this is not the waste gate actuator in question (per Terry).

I love my Jb4 stage 1, BMS, whatever the hell it is called..
Has anyone else put in 100 Octane?? I can say for a fact, that mixing the 100 octane, with the tune, HFC DP and the exhaust, there is a HUGE difference in power.. Not sure exactly why the higher octane really is so much better for your engine, but it is pretty crazy!!! |

I have seen guys with forced induction cars convert to E85 and make 80-100 more horsepwer then a car on 100 octane. For example my 2004 cobra put down 614rwhp with the addition of a twin screw supercharger, and my friend with the same setup only difference was e85 made 701 to the tires snce I was on 100 octane and e85 is technically around 110. Hope that sums it up.

Yes it does. One thing to run it on a cobra and a whole other story running it on your 57k bmw.
I wouldnt do it, its a hassle to convert. Shitty fuel economy to say the least.
